Tempranillo and 10% Syrah from vineyards in Tudela de Duero and aged for 16 months. Mauro was created in the 1970's by Luciano Suarez, specializing in the restoration of medieval monuments, and Felix Choque, cousin of Mariano Garcia, the former winemaker at Vega Sicilia. Flavors of raspberry and cherry some leather and earthy pepper. The wine had good balance with oak on fine tannins. Lingering finish ending with earthy tones. — 8 years ago

Quintessential Colchagua. Great dry quality with rocky green pepper aroma. Dangerously drinkable all day and even better on the roof of Luciano K! — 9 years ago
Ok, again the soft but very rich tannins, ik like the silky ness of this great wine. It’s more open for me then La Vigne and Aleste and it’s a meaty, powerful wine!! For me it’s a great wine but out of my Leaque price wise. So after this great tasting for me it’s simple, the 2017 Barolo’s are great and more affordable for the most of us. The Vite Talin is a guilty pleasure!! — 5 years ago

Vintage 2018 / Thanks! winefriend @Jaap Cuijpers knows that I like very curious grapes and he introduced me to Incrocio Bruni 54. There are only 32 acres vineyard with this grape, a crossing from sauvignon and verdicchio bianco. The wine is from the Marche region. It went excellent with a piperade of vegetables and baked flounder (Fr: limande Nl: schar) and a selection of goats cheese. — 6 years ago
Twisted Vines purchase many years ago; C burnt ruby, evidence of oxidation; N barnyard, leather, cherry, oak; T same, slightly past prime, mild acidity and tannins, increased as wine opened up. Enjoyed with Luciano pepperoni, mushroom, black olive pizza. — 8 years ago

Tom Casagrande
Needs air at this young age but quickly hits its stride. Really fragrant, with zesty, ripe berries, spice, a yeasty, fresh bread note, and mineral-flecked turned gravel. Loads of upfront fruit, but in a dry package with zingy acids. Slight bitter note complements the fruit. So pure tasting and food flexible. Textbook. — 3 years ago
