Motziflon Nebbiolo 1982

Medium tawny color. Aromas of raspberry, smoke and hint of meatiness. Sharp red fruit, great wine from 1982! Cork fell apart with cork puller but oh well! — 3 years ago

Luciano Sandrone

Dolcetto d'Alba 2017

Dinner w/Barbara Sandrone. A respectable Dolcetto (and from Alba, not Dogliani). Pared quizzically w/dessert, but it still fared ok. With its high toned fruit, medium body, and sharp acidity, this is more of an appetizer wine. — 6 years ago

Incrocio Bruni 54 Marche Bianco 2013

Vintage 2018 / Thanks! winefriend @Jaap Cuijpers knows that I like very curious grapes and he introduced me to Incrocio Bruni 54. There are only 32 acres vineyard with this grape, a crossing from sauvignon and verdicchio bianco. The wine is from the Marche region. It went excellent with a piperade of vegetables and baked flounder (Fr: limande Nl: schar) and a selection of goats cheese. — 6 years ago

Passito Lacrima di Morro d'Alba Lacrima

Taste of pepper which I'm not fond of, yet it paired very well with cheese. Pepper disappeared and the flavor melted in with the cheese. — 9 years ago

Aleste Barolo Nebbiolo 2014

Dinner w/Barbara Sandrone. This is the shizzle. Just a baby but so much promise. The acidity and tannins are crushing it. Finish is very long and the fruit digs in. I haven’t had many wines from this producer but am a solid fan now. — 6 years ago

Cinque Terre White Bosco Blend 2012

Alas, a great showing for this great white. Very persistent and mineral driven, yet round generous too. But I don't get the sense it wants more bottle age. — 8 years ago

@Kyle Harvey agreed about Ligurian wines!! @Jeff Savigny Cinqueterre is kind of tough though, in my opinion. This producer is the best although it's not easy to find. One of the few places that usually has it is in Rapallo: http://thewellofwines.com

@Jeff Savigny If you like dessert wine try to get some Sciacchetra. From my experience I have only found at the source . Have a wonderful trip!
