Barnyard funk, dark cherry, pepper, manure, tar, smoke, lifted violet, and leather. Makes you slow down to take it all in. Palate is in balance, with persisting acidity for the age. Red fruit - cranberry and strawberry - and forest floor. Finish persists carried by acidity more than tannin, dryness is there too. Finish is long and smokey, sexy. Pop and pour and ready to go, but this has many more years in it. Excellent. — 8 years ago
Dryer than usual cabs. Alcohol note early and through the sip but still ok. Little cherry, little vanilla, medium bodied. Enjoyable to drink but wouldn't be my first choice. Vintage 2013. — 9 years ago
Medium:acidity smells: cherry, vanilla — 10 years ago
Black raspberry, black cherry, and black currants are ripe/dried with some definite spice. This cab has a nice mineral quality that was unexpected...something like dusty rocks. Velvety tannins and a long finish. — 10 years ago
Nice big fat red wants to walk out of the glass into your mouth. Sweet cherry with palate cleansing spice final notes. — 11 years ago
Cranberry, cherry, red currant with some darker fruit. Cassis, pungent spices, dry earth/forest floor, hint of tobacco and leather. Birthday wine. — 6 years ago
Deep, heady, dizzying nose of strawberry compote, cherry liquer, sandalwood, maybe some eucalyptus, and other exotic woods.
palate also brings damp earth, light rose , and a slight sanguine note. More muscular Than I would have expected out of a volnay. But at the same time precise and fresh with energizing acidity creating a nervy tension. Sensational
I should mention that it needed considerable time. Started off very floral and strawberry but somewhat one dimensional. Several hours later was a different wine

Beautiful wine with light ruby color, and rich aromas of raspberries, cherries, leafs of tomatoes, cheeses, meat, soil, leather and spices.
Soft tannins, good acidity.
Good balanced wine, I in taste - cherry juice, dried red berries, black pepper, leather and mashrooms, long finish.

This beaujo tastes a bit like a Côtes du Rhone. The nose is syrahesque with some pepper, cherry, cherry jam. I would have put the palate in saint joseph or crozes, perhaps more on the acid side. Cherry, a bit rough tannins, moderately long finish. Cool, surprising wine — 9 years ago
Dark raspberry and cherry, some mushroom and funkiness, decent tannins. Enjoyable wine. — 9 years ago
High acidity with cherry notes. Age is something you notice over the layers as the wine evolves on your palette. — 11 years ago
Simple and nice. Dark cherry and mocha. But chalky on the finish. — 11 years ago
The Louis M. Martini Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits a deep burgundy color with aromas of dark fruits, smoky cedar and dried herbs. Concentrated flavors of black cherry and blackberry are framed nicely by cedar and toast notes on the finish. Rich and broad in the mouth, this wine has a long finish with an expansive palate. This is a well structured and balanced wine that is medium-to-full-bodied and is ready to enjoy now or can be aged up to 5 years. — 12 years ago
This is just lovely with hints of black cherry and plum with creosote, black pepper and soy accents. Palate is full of spicy Syrah flavors with lots of white pepper, plum and black raspberry. Tannins are present but sauve with lifting acidity. Just a great level of balance on the earth driven finish. — 7 years ago
Wild strawberry, red cherry scents float off the brilliant red surface of this wine. Similar favors combined with a touch of anise are framed by salivating acidity and contrasting, modest tannins. This is quite good and while opened too early, a wine that will surely deliver loads of berry fruit years to come. — 9 years ago
V12. So simple, but so good. Mocha and smoke bouquet. Clean, tart, bright cherry fruit. Earthy finish. Well done. — 9 years ago

Juicy, balanced cherry and raisin—almost like a port, but still elegant and balanced. Nice, easy to drink. Complex. A little hazy. — 6 years ago
