Ali Story, of Smith-Story Wines, was in town and did a nice tasting at Classic today. A pleasure to meet and very unique and enjoyable wines.
Neat story behind this wine. Ali & Eric have a golden doodle named Lord Sandwich. He’s known for stealing socks. They created this NV “kitchen sink” field blend (zin, Petite Sirah, carignan, Pinot noir) as “his wine” where proceeds go to those who need socks. Some older wine is put in to this so it was surprisingly mellow for a zin/PS blend. Cherry, Blackberries, plum, & violet. — 8 years ago

Living up to its known for being "Lord of the Vines". To those who adore a momentous affiliation of rustic and refinement, this is your match. Incredible. — 10 years ago
Thank you to my good friend Andy Bunch for bringing this beer to try tonight. A rare treat for sure. Took a while to open up, bit man, it’s hitting its stride a couple hours later with notes of semi sweet chocolate, espresso liquor, brownie batter, vanilla, toasted nuts and almond oil. A rich brew with a 15%+ ABV. Black as old motor oil and super mouth coating. Yum yum yum. — 8 years ago
Stood up to spicy meat. Rich, leathery finish. Good lord, I must have this again! — 8 years ago
Woah best of tonight's trio, gracefully aged. Everything I want in vintage Bordeaux. Leather, bell pepper, hints of pepper and spice. Elegant finish. Oh lord this bottle went too fast — 9 years ago

With dinner at Lord Stanley. Server commended us on our choice. It was great :) — 10 years ago
Good lord... Pine resin, dried grapefruit peel, Arcor orange, and Eucalyptus oil. Absolutely penetrates with bite and grip on the palate. The longest finish on a beer I've ever experienced at 90+ seconds. — 10 years ago
Oh my lord. What an extremely balanced, smooth wine. The aroma/nose is perfect, youthful fruits and berries, oak; but the taste is where it's really at. Sublime, smooth, nothing prominent, nothing hidden, all of them sitting in a equal row, like an extremely high end pair of headphones, nearly clinical. High alcohol content, low viscosity, translucent ruby color, presence of gas. What an absolutely incredible wine -- and it's from California!!! — 8 years ago
Lord - another Walla suitcase bottle down. Inky dark. Amaze. — 9 years ago
Good Lord. Brilliantly fresh, pure, clean. Textbook. Superb texture, acidity, brightness. Extra time in autoclave, too. #moscatodasti #piemonte — 10 years ago

Takes a while to open up - had it in a decanter for 30 min and it needed more than double that. But once it opened, my lord, was it good. Soft, supple approach, with raisin and molasses, and more of the fruit seeping through in a warm, spicy finish. — 8 years ago
