Very full-bodied. Worth the lofty price. — 9 years ago
Fantastic bouquet, super floral notes, blackberry, creme de cassis, minerals, vanilla, oak, just big time terrior. A great vintage, great balance, great finish, just a great wine. Worth the money. — 10 years ago
Fine black and red fruit aromas give way to a subtle mouthfeel of bramble notes, currants, and minor spices. Medium body and firm tannin. A very traditional Napa red that is well worth having on your shelf. Paired well with steak and fettuccine alfredo. — 10 years ago
💜 this! Drinking to celebrate and definitely worth it — 10 years ago
Perfect balance!! Smooth, elegant . Worth the wait and then some. I will have to get more of this. — 11 years ago
Really nice. Pleasing aromatic complexity. Grippy tannins, but not overly harsh. Well worth the price.

Love is blind tasting. A much better showing than the 89. Pleasant and smooth. Pleasant for $169 is just not worth the special occasion price. — 11 years ago
Great. Worth the wait. — 12 years ago
Had with family- definitely worth having again. — 13 years ago
Very good, worth the splurge — 9 years ago
The reason I fell in love with wine, popped my cherry or grape I should say. I was 19 and took this from my fathers stash, definitely got in trouble but it was worth it! — 9 years ago
A fantastic 2002, this lovely wine shows once more that today there aren't really bad years in Bordeaux, this Pontet Canet was well structured rich and tempting. Deep red, tempting rich multi layered nose ripe cherries, black current, coffee, cigar box, and tea leaves, full rich body, dry tannins, full of black fruit, high acidity and a long chewy finish. Was worth the wait, my score 90. Drink to 2022 — 10 years ago
Worth every penny. Soooo gooood. — 10 years ago
This old and empty bottle I drank with friends and family members on my Birthday it's a Magnum and wasn't as well cared for as another Magnum of Chateau Talbot also a 1949 Magnum also drank on my birthday with friends who as well as me, are old farts or dead. I'm still kicking but not a clue as to why? Possibly the fine wine I/we consumed? The Talbot was considerably better and I paid less for it back in the 70's. Drank it in 1979 it & me were 30 back then. I loved it then and my guess is I'd love it today!

Totally worth it. — 11 years ago
Outstanding!! Worth the wait to drink at age 21. This wine will hold for several more years. — 11 years ago
Luv it, worth every penny!! — 11 years ago
Excellent balance between fruit, body, and earth. Would buy again. — 13 years ago
Worth the money, not amazing but very good with good floral notes and alcoholic nose — 14 years ago
Big and perfect. — 9 years ago
The tannins always rough me up more or less over the years, but now it's more a stern reprimand. Well worth the $20/bottle tariff -- in 2003!?? — 9 years ago
The usual notes of cherries and oak, but a balance and finish worth writing home about. Alongside hints of mocha, the 2009 beautifully displays a eucalyptus undertone with an opulent mouthfeel. Very good, big and fruit forward wine. Well rounded. — 10 years ago
Great fruit. Very enjoyable. Worth the price — 10 years ago
Velvety mouthfeel with medium tannins. Robust red and dried fruits, finish of vanilla and graphite. Quaffable af. Would pair with lamb, rabbit, pork, cheese, hummus. Versatile. Honestly not worth it's price point. An off vintage from a delicious vinyard. Would not be hard to find a bottle 1/5 of the price. — 11 years ago

2012. Sampled it for the RIMS 2018 conference. Expensive but completely worth it. Very smooth & fruity & reminiscent of a red blend (but a nice one!). — 8 years ago
