Good berry flavor. 100% best one I’ve had so far — 5 years ago
2005 Vintage. 16.4% Alcohol. 93% Grenache, 7% Syrah. Wow, this wine was stunning. Cork broke in two using the lever screwpull but saved it with a hand corkscrew for the remaining half inch. Even under the intact wax cap. Found it hidden in double deep racking on the white/rose side of my cellar. Big fruit and velvety mouthfeel. Not obviously hot, but packed a punch! — 6 years ago
Bright, sharp, green apple, lime. Perfectly off-dry, clean finish. Medium+ acidity, in balance. — 7 years ago
Color of pale yellow with bubbly nature. Nose is amazing and abundant. Waves of fragrances like ice wine, flowering note, grapefruit, passion fruits, zest, spice, butter, pepper, and ripe peach are coming waves after waves. Taste of subtle acidity, dry in nature, peppery, a hint of sweetness, ripe melon, zest, grapefruit, lime, a bit salty, and a bit jalapeño. Aftertaste melon, grapefruit, zesty note, flowering and grassy note, and medium long. This wine is a killer if you enjoy a light but vibrant white wine. Try it at room temperature. — 9 years ago
Ah! Silver Oak. Drank while watching Packers lose. So enjoyable. This is the Alexander Valley Cab from 2008. Great vintage, smooth cherry/dark berry fruit. Love 2008 vintage with its burst of fruit and subtle licorice finish — 10 years ago
Crazy awesome. Tons of black pepper, smoke, tobacco and bacon fat. Luscious dark fruits. Very fruit forward palate. Waaaaaay too young. — 10 years ago
Very nice pinot noir but not traditional by pinot standards. Very clean and complex. Layers of great berry fruit and spice. Interesting textures. Very pleasant finish. — 11 years ago
Highly enjoyed this half bottle! Full bodies, rich, subtle notes of berry and chocolates! — 12 years ago
Just phenomenal. And I am a Graach guy at Prum. More never and energy than WS. Nose is so ethereal. Lime zest, first of season green apple skins, slate, apricot, phyllo dough. So expressive. Some sweet rubber as well. Like brand new rubber boots. Palate is so elegant and concentrated but light yet almost middle weight and weightless. Huge fruit soak. Such purity. Perfect for a mid summer Tuesday night. — a year ago

Love what Pax has done over the years. I have a few bottles of his 2003 Griffins Layer... It's a beautiful wine that is probably mind-blowing at this point; however, this wine shows restraint, refinement and a sense of place. Looking forward to owning a bottle in a few years. — 9 years ago
Very complex, perfectly balanced a ton of fruit with savory Syrah notes. Very special. — 10 years ago
Citrus particularly melon and peach. Crisp finish with lime overtones. For those who want to move a bit beyond typical dry and crisp whites, try this wine. — 11 years ago
Great summer wine! On the rocks with a little lime! Amazing! — 13 years ago
Juicy-fruited, this is unabashedly lime- and peach-forward, with floral and mineral accents playing a secondary role. Acidity is refreshing but not life-ruining. Mouthfeel is pleasantly rounded, belying its moderate abv (11.5%) and crisp, dry finish. Not complex, but pure pleasure, balanced and composed; you’d have to be some kind of dipshit not to love this wine. — 4 years ago
Fantastic 1988 Phelps Insignia. Fresh, lively with acidity and wonderful red berry flavors and slight cocoa notes on the finish. Silky mouthfeel. Nose still unfurling hints of sweet chocolate and raspberry. A gorgeous showing. — 5 years ago
Consumed 03/2020. It is an appellation of Monterey county 56%, Santa Barbara County 26%, and Sonoma County 18%. It is a layered blend with spice filled aromas, bright berry flavors and rich textures. — 6 years ago
2nd bottle was the wine of the night, impeccably stored, still intense dark berry fruit intensity, outstanding. — 8 years ago
Intense raspberry on the nose with hints of smoke. Amazed how time has tamed this wine. Rich and lush red fruit this has successfully transformed itself. Reverberated in every nook and cranny of my mouth Carries its alcohol effortlessly. Last of 3 bottles and this one was head and shoulders better than the previous 2. — 10 years ago
Cali sunshine in a glass! Key lime pie, lemon curd, beeswax, touch of tropical fruit. Lively acidity. — 11 years ago

From a recently purchased owc showing the classic LB personality of red cherry, black berry fruit, cassis, leather, menthol, graphite, sweet savory spices & tobacco. This has been fully mature for a while where perfectly stored btls are still drinking well. — 10 months ago
