Found out the bun Rachel has been cooking is going to be a boy- so we popped the campest drink we could find in his honour. 8.5% Chenin. Fizz & a heavy touch of residual sugar. Complete with sassy leopard print top. Way the dude makes this seems to be the strangest method of making a naturally sparkling bottle- but it's worked. And we're happy. — 9 years ago

Groovy spice and moss on the nose leads to a huge blueberry chocolate first blush front mouth sensation that performs a lava-like spread latching and lingering then oddly finishing with a clean freefall leaving one to ponder the front end remnants and, of course, take another swig! It's way big, so, pace proportionately. Also, it's a bit spun-up so decant and let it unravel itself, for the win/win of it all...

A blend of 78% Cab Sauvignon, 13% Merlot & 9% Cab Franc, aromas of rich fruits, spice and floral notes. On the palate cherry, raspberry and plum flavors with leather spice and sweet cacao tones. We had this with Oxtail dinner at Rattray’s in Mala Mala last night.

Not my usual detailed notes. This is ripe & lush like the Nederburg but with more complexity.

The palate showed ripe and slightly candied fruits of; dark currants, blackberries, black raspberries, dark cherries and a hint of blue fruits. Nice softly layered baking spices, dark chocolate, mocha, rich, dark soils, some dry top, well done granitic minerals and fresh red and dark florals. The acidity round & beautiful. The finish, ripe, lush, well balanced & polished. Good QPR here.

What a mouthful of white burgundy! Yum. More years to go but probably near peak? Last glass after 6 days. Opened another 8/30/18 at frog hollow Jim visit. By mistake. Thought it was a red. Excellent still. Great texture and acidity with biting long finish. — 9 years ago
