Such a distinct cab, unlike any Cali cab...from a small vineyard above St Helena, planted in the 1970s, only produces 3 barrels by Tynan (winemaker at Lede Family Wines). Buying since initial 2012 vintage...see RP 100pt review of the 2013(wow!!).
3 hour decant (min sediment). A brooding inky dark garnet color. On the nose: blue fruit, floral, sweet cherry, spice, pine tree all burst from the glass. Taste: blueberry, blackberry, smoke, minerals, tar...rich and lush mouthfeel with firm tannins that goes on and on. More time in the cellar should benefit my remaining bottles! — 6 years ago

Super smooth cab, almost light on the mouth, not super tannic — 7 years ago

In magnum..luv the foil cap..."it goes to eleven". 1 hour decant (little sediment). A transfixing inky red color. On the nose: blue fruit, floral, cassis, black fruit. Taste: BlackBerry, graphite, minerals, smoke..semi firm tannins and a plush mouthfeel lead to a med- long finish...has more time to go. From the Rock Block series..names diff blocks for his favorite songs or albums. — 6 years ago

Off to Napa tomorrow for a big wine dinner from Cliff Lede wines...so had to break out a big Napa cab tonight.
Decanted 1 hour (decent amount of fine sediment). Color is an intimidating dark black/purple. On the nose: blueberry, forest floor, cassis, mint. Taste: blueberry. BlackBerry, pencil lead, currents, spice...nice full silky mouthfeel with a little tannic grip and a little heat from the alcohol(+15.6!!) at the end...drinking nicely but could use a couple more years. — 7 years ago

Alsace in America. Ripe, fleshy, and oxidative after 9 years - it tastes of gooey peach skins, mango peels, lychee, crystallized honeycomb, and macadamia nuts. Enough residual sugar to pair beautifully with dessert, but equally alluring earlier in a meal. Breggo was sold to Napa producer Cliff Lede in this same year, where it was later renamed FEL. — 7 years ago
Excellent, silky and smooth — 8 years ago
Rich, silky lavender, red and black fruit... soft but complex. Reminds me of Lede. — 9 years ago

On the nose, Meyer lemon, honey notes, pineapple, green apple flesh with no skin, lime, melon, notes of orange citrus, spring flowers & jasmine
The body is light, slightly waxy, lemon, honeycomb, light green & red apple without skin, tropical melons, pineapple, yellow lilies and spring flowers. Beautiful round acidy. Great texture, length and understated polished finish.
