Le Coq Bleu

Chêne Bleu

Vin de Pays de Vaucluse Viognier 2013

Charles (Chad) Bucklin
9.2

This #viogier from #chenebleu is showing so much better than it was 21 weeks ago. The nose and palate showed gorgeous aromatics and ripe delicious fruit. The weight was heavy but still sleek and elegant at the same time. — 9 years ago

Comte Armand

Clos des Epeneaux Monopole Pommard 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2006

Upon opening the nose gives way more than palate. Underripe strawberry, mulberry, pomegranate with cedar shaving and forest floor. 2-4hrs in decanter and its singing. More red juicy fruit, forest floor with mushroom and minerals (crushed stones) and the lean quality giving way to juicy acid and mouth coating tannins. With Coq Au Vin it was a damn good way to start the weekend. — 10 years ago

de Venoge

Cordon Bleu Brut Champagne Chardonnay

De Venoge has one of my favorite and solid line ups from their N.V. up through their Louis XV line. This particular chardonnay based Cordon Bleu is unique and beautiful. Brut but not on the more bone dry side. On the nose is the lovely smell of unpasteurized honey with beeswax, spread on a freshly baked English muffin, with some lemon undertone, mousse, and fig preserves. Definitely one that even people who say they don't prefer brut champagne do enjoy! If I could drink a true champagne day to day in this price range, this would be one of a select few I would choose! — 9 years ago

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2008

Was recommended by the sommelier at Coq D'Argent. Surprisingly light for a Bordeaux down to 2008 being a cold year. — 11 years ago
