Enjoyed this 2010 VJB Cab on 5/24/2020. This bottle held up well with nice aroma and balanced tannins. Still has some life remaining on this vintage, but would recommend drinking soon. — 4 years ago

This 13 year old Cabernet Sauvignon was amazing. Full body with plenty of fruit and so amazingly soft. We decanted this bottle about an hour before serving it with a nicely seasoned and grilled sirloin steak with a little soy sauce. Richer, more full-bodied style. It shows the typical Gruner Veltliner floral perfume, with complex notes of citrus, ripe apples and peach, followed by earthy, mineral and yeasty hints. Dark, glass-clinging amethyst purple with opaque black core. Initially shy but inviting nose of blackberry, echoed on the medium full plate which adds notes of licorice, dark plum, and patent leather. Juicy, medium plus acidity enhancers the fruit and, paired with medium tannins, yields a very food-friendly Syrah that's a natural for steaks, roasts, or grilled fare. Try it with black olive pizza!
