Super well balanced smoke to peat. Smooth. Easy drinking. Wonderful flavor. We really enjoyed this whisky very much! — 7 years ago
Something else. Peated high high. Comparable to the Laphroaig Quarter Cask. I'm on a boat — 8 years ago
Bright golden color. Subtle peat on the nose with iodine/brine. Some oak. Bright sweetness as it hits the tongue which quickly moves towards saltiness and slight peat. The alcohol takes over with a warming and slight burning sensation as it washes down. The finish is long and warming with the smokiness of the peat taking over. Balanced yet interesting. — 8 years ago
Saline with a haunting sweetness. Exceptional scotch. — 10 years ago
Pale straw in color. Wet newspaper, cement, iodine, charcoal, peat, barley, sherry, rubber hose, and even dew on a wet golf course. Hot mouthfeel, but very well balanced. Long finish! Islay to the next level! — 10 years ago
I found my peaty bottle that is not just peat :) balanced! — 7 years ago
Agree with the reviewer Madeleine. Spicy and very, very smoky. Almost reminds me of the whiskey Laphroaig. — 7 years ago
Highland Streaker - grouse whiskey base but what makes it is the Laphroaig spritz. Really good. — 8 years ago
Cask strength from Laphroaig, menthol nose which I guess gives it it's name along with some pine. The taste is of pine resin, peat and perhaps some sweet honey. A very complex malt and not an everyday easy drinking whiskey but it is enjoyable and interesting! — 9 years ago
Like laphroaig. But sweeter. — 9 years ago
Probably my favorite single malt whiskey, even April likes in it an "Ole St. Nick" - heaven 😃. — 10 years ago
Very peaty! I would have guessed, if I were blindfolded, that it was a Laphroaig. — 7 years ago

Pretty darned good — 9 years ago
Signatory laphroaig 1997 17yr. G tasting. #6 Peaty peaty nose! Floral yet savory nose. Also on palate but very balanced. Burnt butter nose. Lively smoke and clean. Good clean finish. — 10 years ago

Nose of briny, smokey peat that's on the medicinal side (burnt rubber). Walnut, toffee, black pepper, and perhaps a hint of raisin.
Rich, intense palate of malt, toffee, roasted almond, sea shell, and the classic medicinal, smokey Laphroaig finish. Mixed in the peaty finish is a hint of bacon, plum, and pepper.
Very much Laphroaig but more rounded and with more rich, nutty notes than the 10. Not that fruity which I would expect from the sherry finish, but still delicious. — 6 years ago
