The 2021 Sangiovese Predappio is perfumed with an earthy tinge that perfectly offsets its ripe blueberry fruit. This is round and supple, with a classic feel, displaying amazing energy and a fine cut. Citrus-laced plums and violet undertones linger on the long and gently tannic finish. $25.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, September 2024) — 9 months ago
We opened a 2014 Paolo Bea “Santa Chiara” that was horribly corked and we were so gutted by the experience that we decided an immediate and measured response was necessary to make up fo the tragedy. So we opened a 2016 Granato. Aaaaaand, this was an absolute show-stopper for everyone who got to try it. Bright red fruit, minerals, and sex. Drink now with patience (last glass was best) or hold out for more. — 6 years ago

Wow on day 2 after day 1 was via Coravin this is even better!
Much better this time around for me. More integrated and maybe the last bottle was slightly flawed. No signs of the funky notes the last bottle had.
Pure and classic sour cherry, leather, dried floral, and savory spice Sangiovese. Elegant on the palate, medium bodied with med+ flavors and persistence on the finish. — 6 months ago
Deep purple color.
Aromas of sweet floral, blueberry compote, vanilla.
Dry. Flavors of blueberry jam, black pepper, violet, licorice. Rich, velvety tannins.

Very silky and creamy bubbles, great product from franciacorta. maturation on the lees balances the acidity and the citrus. — 6 years ago
Tastes peppery and old-world-ish, but really good. — 7 years ago
Soft upfront with mild dark fruit. But builds to a dry dry tannin middle that lingers with a pow of dryness. — 8 years ago
Pours a copper-gold color that will immediately make you wonder if this has been oxidized, but apparently that's the style. Like their reds, they seem to turn everything up to 11 in Montefalco.
After decanting in the glass, aromas of toffee, white flowers, almonds, bitter oranges, and minerals. Very funky and interesting, but not something I'd hand innocent wine drinkers. — 8 months ago
Had this 45 weeks ago, very nice German Pinot Noir…. Great value and enjoyable — a year ago
Perfectly well balanced delicious slight peach with delicate minealality. An easy drinking white wine — 2 years ago
Lovely Gavi. A little richer than michele chiara. At belvedere. — 7 years ago
It’s like drinking the generational wisdom wrought by Bea’s family in liquid form. It’s a grace to have had people who held onto tradition in the face of progress. They conserved rather than progressed, and I’m happy they didn’t bend with the times. Markedly more tannic than the Santa Chiara and the same flavors dominate, but are deeper. — 8 years ago

2022 vintage. Tasted with the winemaker. Excellent punch, richness and drinkability. Medium-medium heavy body with a sustained fruity finish. $29 resto cost a bottle. Woulda picked up the last two cases available but recently committed to a few cases of another Barbera d'Alba that showed just as well. If I come across this on a resto list, I'll hit it. 02.07.25. — 5 months ago
