Vieilles Vignes Morey-Saint-Denis Pinot Noir 2009

Engaging with notes of cherry and olives. A bit simple with short finish but very accessible wine. Opened and poured after about 15 minutes of air — 7 years ago

Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2012

From our final family dinner at One Fifth, the steakhouse. Fruity aroma, but lovely smooth flavor with a bit of bite at the end. — 9 years ago

17.5. Decanted. Still, even better second day. Big wine, on nose and palate. Great fruit, not showing much age 21 years on. — 6 years ago

Loved the simplicity of this wine. Would love to see how it ages. Enjoyed during our chef’s table experience at Napa Rose. — 6 years ago

Domaine Ernest Burn

Clos Saint Imer La Chapelle Goldert Gewürztraminer 2015

Vending Tardive. One can make a case that in Alsace, where it is considered a Grand Cru-eligible grape, muscat gets more respect than in any other wine region. In this wine you can certainly taste why it deserves grand Cru status - perfect balance, great depth, subtle flavors and a level of sweetness that supports rather than overwhelms the fruit. Lovely rosé petal and honey notes With a refined Thai or Indian curry this will be exception, and with seared foie Gras? Off the chart. It deserves another couple of years in bottle but it will be hard to wait that long — 9 years ago
