Very nice and somewhat light wine with an earthy tone and hint of chocolate. Forgot the price on this but would definitely recommend it. — 11 years ago

Smells like the gauzy part of a band-aid caked with fresh-dried blood & hay. Totally into it. — 14 years ago
1995 Dom. Laurent NSG Les Vaucrains - The wine is showing beautifully. Still a bunch of primary notes, harmoniously integrated with some secondary tones. — 11 years ago

100% petit verdot. This followed the 2010 Bastide Saint-Dominique CdP, which provided the intended contrast in styles, but probably created unrealistic expectations. Immediately I was surprised at how old this wine smelled and tasted. (We decanted for an hour.) Interestingly it was evocative of a much, much older right bank Bordeaux than a 10 year old petit verdot. The harness of the grape is gone, and this is much more approachable that I would have guessed. This would no doubt confuse everyone in a blind tasting. — 10 years ago
