2005 vintage. Domaine Fourrier, 1er Cru Combe aux Moines. The start of Simon and my trip to Burgundy at Bistro de l'Hotel. The wine is a little closed - needs some air. Nevertheless, wonderful potential. Deep dark berried fruits, sweet spices, leathery and earthy - rich. On the palate, full bodied, medium acidity, high concentration and medium minus soft, silky tannins. Good long finish. Nice complexity and I like the sweet fruit mid-palate. It's not exactly my style, but it's a lovely bottle. NB: with air, licorice and mint to the fore with cranberry sauce notes. — 10 years ago
2008 vintage. At Bistro de l'Hotel, Beaune. Pale golden hue. Deep concentration of nuts, butter, honey, and minerality in abundance. On the palate, medium plus acidity, medium plus body, full concentration - honeyed walnuts, almonds and peachy stone fruit. Excellent length. Real gem. Superb. Drink now until 2026+ — 9 years ago

2010 vintage. Aged 54 months in oak which explains the medium golden colour for a wine so young. In Bistro de l'Hotel, Beaune. More of a Chassagne mineral tight nose, than a Meursault nose. Honey and sea shells, ripe lemon pieces and stone fruit. On the palate, high acidity, medium body and alcohol, medium concentration and medium plus finish. Quite elegant.
