Had with a Kobe steak at AG in Stockholm, the wine was great, far better then the stake! — 10 years ago
Dark red with layers of flavor. Cassis and rich plum flavored with a bit of spice undertones. Great with Kobe beef steak and pizza. Enjoying with Don. — 10 years ago
First not really exceptional. But later it opened and boosted by Kobe beef even more. — 10 years ago
This one took is on a journey from alcohol heavy in the beginning to Bologna and fruity and ending smooth as silk. Had it at Mr Parkers in Palm Springs ... No corkage! Went well with the Kobe short ribs and a Sirloin. Wine was better than the food by a mile. — 10 years ago
Pairs beautifully with a Kobe burger. A delicious, smooth red blend that keeps you coming back for more. So the name is perfect! Enjoyed the 2011 vintage. — 10 years ago

Kobe birthday wine #2 😬 — 11 years ago
We tried to pass a glass to Kobe on Steve Gage's behalf, but they don't let me within 100 feet of him or his ex wife anymore. #newport #notusingthisright — 11 years ago
Amazing white in Paris at La Vitrine, compliments of Kobe :) :) — 12 years ago
Usually Merlot is not among my favorites, but clearly I have been drinking the wrong wines. This wine is wonderfully smooth and balanced with medium-high tannins. Aromas of tobacco, raspberry and pomegranate fill the glass. It has a full bodied pallate of dark cherries and nutmeg, with hints of cocoa and a bit of spice that continue into a long enjoyable finish. Drank at VIC's in NE Minneapolis for mystery wine night, and paired with a Kobe beef burger! ($36) — 9 years ago
Pure fragrant and very silly but with good powerful intensity and a long grappa like finish. — 10 years ago
Went amazingly well w Kobe — 10 years ago
Good hint of berries and a smidgen of tobacco. Smooth balance and not over powering, great with a Kobe burger (not too well done of course). 2011 vin — 10 years ago
The St. Estephe's of 1996 have impressed me since release. It is hard to believe they are 19 this year. This Meyney is young for its age and has the claret virtue of refreshing easiness. It also has superb curranty fruit and no shortage of complexity- and it doesn't need bulk to make it complete. The Meyney was great with our super savory Kobe Fred Steaks! — 10 years ago
Kobe beef and a full-bodied Cab. Perfecto! — 11 years ago
Blockbuster wine!
Happy birthday, Kobe-san. — 11 years ago

Ever had a $175 burger before? No? Me neither. #ididntorderit truffle, foie gras, Kobe tartare — 10 years ago
2010 is not yet ready, but still great with cherry, plum, earthy notes. Will be awesome in a decade or more. Had it with A5 Kobe! — 10 years ago
Had it with my Kobe beef and abalone meal during my last evening in Tokyo in 2014. I'm not well versed in articulating the flavors of wine, but I will say it's the best red I've ever had in my life! — 10 years ago
Rich. Flavorful. — 10 years ago
Fabulous, semi-sweet sparking sake. Elegant, even regal. Aperitif, or with spicy seafood. — 10 years ago
All tar and roses. A little tired but not sure I can knock the wine for that. Still a pretty drink with some Kobe — 11 years ago
Pale straw color with delicate bubbles and a creamy mousse. Aromas of fresh dough, pippin apples, and faint notes of ocean spray. Additional flavors of brioche, apple tart, and lemon custard. Rich, long finish. The perfect wine to celebrate the 2014 Kobe Marathon! — 11 years ago
Big full bodied cab showing rabbit tobacco, licorice, & dried cherries along with deep long finish greatly enhanced by decanting, turbo twirling, ... helping to balance the tannins relaxing the finish. Great match with Port Land Grille's kobe meatballs (located on the Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach, NC fringe; groovy spot!). Salute — 11 years ago

Third of three bottles of reds on Kobe Friday night. Good super Tuscan but wish we had it on another occasion with fewer competing bottles. — 9 years ago
