Little oaky at first, but after a breather the oak recedes and gives way to red & dark fruits; like a juice — 7 years ago

So, how are the big '09s Beaujolais five years in? If this is any indication, totally fine, if not graceful and pretty. Pure fruit core with very broad shoulders structurally. Nothing high-toned, and none of the brett or VA I often find in this producer. Was kind of bummed that I didn't order something younger and fresher until I remembered what and insane wine this is for the money and who cares. Great with veal and Morrels. 5-10 years ahead at least. — 11 years ago

Another excellent reason Beaujolais is one of my favorite wines. Helps to enjoy it in Lyon with some heavy bistro food and my favorite travel companion. — 8 years ago
This is the VV which is only indicated by the heavier bottle and wax capsule. This was insane in its youth. Spicy nose. Leathery and meaty too. Starting to show secondary aromas. Bright and lively palate with good creamy texture. Stays balanced throughout. Floral and very pure, defined and vivid fruit. This has aged into a beauty. — 12 years ago
Wow - power Beauj, unexpected. Dark, Somewhat austere (age) yet also fruity. Maybe that’s the old vines? Not sure what to compare it to - maybe a good CDP — 6 years ago
