Wonderful 100% Washington State Grenache. Cherry, Earth, Black Pepper, Herbal aromas. Cherry, red currant and Vanilla flavors. Light color and body. Great summer red. Seriously good Chardonnay from an unlikely AVA. The Finger Lakes can be very hit and miss, but sometimes you find gems like this. Restrained and balanced, with a very subtle aroma of pineapples. It has some weight to it, but also firm acidity. There’s probably some oak at play, but it’s very much in the background. And at only 12% ABV you can have a couple glasses, too. — 7 years ago

So, how are the big '09s Beaujolais five years in? If this is any indication, totally fine, if not graceful and pretty. Pure fruit core with very broad shoulders structurally. Nothing high-toned, and none of the brett or VA I often find in this producer. Was kind of bummed that I didn't order something younger and fresher until I remembered what and insane wine this is for the money and who cares. Great with veal and Morrels. 5-10 years ahead at least. — 11 years ago
