Double Magnum 1995 Joseph Phelps Insignia. Drank w K, Ash, and Sush at Lawry's Phelps dinner. This was the clear winner of the night. Perfect. Super lush and velvety. Awesome treat. — 11 years ago
Oaky oaky oak. Dill and toast. Muted sour cherry. Would have liked to see a bit more fruit or earth, not JUST wood. — 12 years ago
Label was very very new looking. Questionable as to real or not. Cork is correct. Wine us correct. On the way out but just won't leave. Brown to rust color. Better as it went on. Light fruit. Amazingly long Finish. Wow. — 9 years ago
Deep reddish/purple color which has me on guard relative to Pinot. Worried that darker than lighter raspberry red has had Mega Red or other manipulation but this Pinot just has concentrated character. Varietal rose petal and cherry notes in aromas. You can see the broad influence from the 3 appellations that comprise the wine. Weighty on the palate without being too over bearing for the varietal. Great accompaniment to the saffron broth salmon this evening. — 10 years ago
Still in need of further cellaring or an extended decant. Seductive dark berry notes though with nice bitter chocolate and espresso bean notes too. — 11 years ago
Perfect level or dry, good full bodied mild dark fruits. Earthy!? — 10 years ago
1985 Sassicaia. Second red wine at Redd Wood lunch w A, S, and K. This wine was perfect. Epic. We could not believe how perfect this wine was drinking. Thoroughly enjoyed it- it was enjoyable the way truffles are- hard to describe, but pleasing to all relevant senses. — 10 years ago
Light and not too sweet or too dry. — 11 years ago
Our favorite Sauvignon blanc. Light with loads of citrus. Great with shrimp or veg with dip. Between $12 and $16 a bottle. — 12 years ago

Lots of color, but not inky, just dark red and the start of a lighter rim. Smells and tastes like black cherry or blackberries, and cedar, and also cocoa powder(?). Fruit is well integrated but a bit quieter at first. This is a more subtle wine, than expected. A little bit of tannin still that needs airing out. The longer it's open the more the fruit emerges, it's got a great body to it. It's delicious. — 9 years ago
