Really a wonderful St J and a crazy value as a 2nd wine. Lovely pairing with roast rack of lamb with garlic / rosemary / mustard. In a good window but could take more time honestly. Wonderful acid, quite deep fruit, long finish, tannins still very there, delicious. — 3 months ago

Yeasty bread, ripe and slightly browned Fuji and honeycrisp apple, hint of pineapple. Crisp but not bracing, fine bubbles. — 2 months ago
2005 vintage. Beautiful nose, with cassis, blackberries, cedar wood, a little smokiness, and flowers. Seriously concentrated, combining power and elegance. Layers of fruit in a tight but ripe tannic structure. Showing beautifully now, but it should age effortlessly for decades. Classic Saint-Julien. — 3 months ago

Spicy cranberry, black tea, crushed leaves. Fall in a bottle. Fun stuff. — 6 months ago
This wine is a great bargain and also shows how Bouchard has ramped up their quality in recent years. Pale lemon color with pronounced aromas of acacia, lemon, green apple, pear, wet stone, vanilla, clove, smoke, and a bit of honey. All is conveyed on the palate as well with a beguiling, creamy texture and a long finish. This is a lovely wine that is approachable now but will improve for another five or 10 years. Lovely. — 7 months ago
Started out so cherry delicious but suddenly fell apart ...have to give it another try because it was so lovely first out of the bottle. Lou's Wine winter 2015 — 9 years ago

For the price, I expected a lot more. So did the rest on the table. Probably too young as it did improve with air, but I’ve had youthful (and cheaper) Champagne’s that performed far better than this. Started off with heaps of pears, bruised apples, and almonds on the nose. The palate was concentrated, juicy and almost too fruity for me (apples and apricot for days!). Air brought about more cut and chalkiness, as well as some floral notes. In short, I expected more depth. I suspect I’m just not a fan of the vintage. Time will tell. — 3 months ago

Great at the movies. Cheesy and nutty! Even more interesting as it warmed up. — 8 years ago
2012, Clos Des Vignes Du Maynes, Cuvée 910, Macon-Cruzille, field blend of Gamay, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Very light with fresh red fruit balanced by spice and herbal undertones. This is one of my favorites, good as an apertif and pairs well with a variety of dishes. — 10 years ago

Quite deep ruby with wide terracotta , garnet rim . Quite deep slightly funky , red focused sous bois . Tobacco , slightly herbal notes . Quite concentrated but slightly flat red fruited sous bois , tobacco tinged , mineral , grafite finish. Not the best bottle of this , a bit funky and lacks a little exuberance and clarity on the nose and palate. Drink now and over the next few years on this showing. A pity but that is sometimes the way the wine world works ! — 2 months ago
