I wouldn’t mind bathing in this. Such a great winery situated on the side of an extinct volcano and doing great biodynamic work with traditional varieties. This one has Hárslevelü and Juhfark. The former is expressive of tree blossoms and fine tropical fruits. The latter is much more bold and funky, a cool grape which in Hungarian translates to “sheep’s tail” and refers to the elongated and curved shape of its grape clusters. It is considered to be one of the noblest Hungarian white wines, and is also known as “the throne successor’s wine.

Old native variety from Badacsony, along the slopes of Lake Balaton in Western Hungary. Reminiscent of Somloi Juhfark - waxy, full, smoky, flinty. Some freshness despite the full bodied and savory character. Volcanic, like Somló. — 8 years ago
