Stunning concentration, at first lean and taught with juicy and bright acidity. After an hour in the glass this has grown tremendously. The nose is like a Black Forest cake, chocolate cake and cherry aromas galore. The palate is richer, the spice and meaty flavors are drenched in cherries jubilee, blackberry pie too. A crazy long finish with ripe tannins that barely feel like they are there. All of this is well balanced and not a trace of oak. I would like to try this again in a few years after it sheds the still plenty baby fat! — 11 years ago
