Château Pezat

Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Delectable Wine
8.9

The 2015 Pezat Red, Jonathan Maltus's entry-level red, is flat-out delicious. Sweet red cherry and plum fruit are front and center in this racy, open-knit wine. There is much to like, including the wine's very accessible price. I would prefer to drink this succulent Saint-Émilion over the next few years, while the fruit retains its youthful vibrancy. Fiona Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir 2012

Fantastic. Wish it wasn't our last bottle of the 2012. Subtle Pinot fruit with thyme in the nose. Earthy palate of damp mulch or wet leaves with a nicely balanced red fruit and a savory and slight saltiness in the finish. A great wine from a really cool winery. Château Laforge

Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2007

Drank this wine accompanied by Jonathan Maltus and his wife Lyn, the owners of the Chateau since they were kind enough to accept a dinner invitation! Clear, deep ruby. Clean, medium intensity nose, dark fruit, chocolate, leather. Full body, medium acidity, medium level of tannins (very silky). Flavours of plums, cherries, chocolate. Long finish. Very good. — 11 years ago
