Tasted the 1995, on 7/14/18 at Plumed Horse. Dark gold color with sight orange tinge. Nose of butter rum, well ripened apricot and golden raisin. Lovely balanced flavors, well on its way to sherry. Nuts, citrus, spice and dried apple. Good acid, not overpowering. A great pairing with the roasted apricot and Mt. Tam triple cream cheese. Thank you, Jeffrey Perisho, for the suggestion! — 8 years ago

This was not only the WOTN but is definitely the WOTY for me. My head snapped back in utter amazement as soon as I enjoyed my 1st sniff of the nose. Holy mother of all wines is this bottle absolutely stunning and perfect. It's by far the best wine that I have had the privilege to enjoy. This is exactly what I was expecting from the famed 61!!!!!! It was simply perfect. A truly perfect example of what Latour is and what every Bordeaux blend in the world aspires to be. Utter perfection in its opulence & decadence: blackberry, black currant, intense & soaring aromatics. You could enjoy the nose at arms length!!! Simply & utterly stunning. Thank you Jeff!!!!!!!!!!@Jeffrey Lew — 9 years ago

Great Lakes porter- great chocolate taste. Breaking the summer vibe. @Jeffrey Long I'll give ya $20 if you recognize the face in the background — 11 years ago
2011-- compliments of Roger and Lynnette! Jeffrey says "smells like wine should smell-- oaky, barrel-y"; Yukie thinks it has a good amount of tannins, but a nice, easy finish with an earthy, figgy taste. Not decanted, just enjoyed. -- With Jeffrey and Paula.🍷 — 11 years ago
This 2009 Ganevat Pinot was amazing last night. Good acidity, strawberries at first and then cherries. Elegant finish. Loved it. — 11 years ago

Jeffrey Patterson brought this in himself. Pretty impressive for a 19 year old CA Pinot. — 13 years ago
Jeffrey Grosset is regarded by many as making Australia’s best Riesling. If not certainly in the top 3. This is his drink now off dry cuvée - different to his 2 top cuvees Springvale and Polish Hill which are built to last for decades. This has aromas and palate of peach and grapefruit with a little residual sweetness and minerality. An excellent accompaniment to Asian food - in this case Thai. — 7 years ago
Many of the Wine scribes in Australia are spruiking the 2017 vintage in Australia as superlative for Riesling. This Vickery did not disappoint. Aromas of Musk and Lime. The palate is richer than expected with the pronounced Acid one would expect. A long future ahead. On the basis of this I have ordered a mixed dozen of 3 different Rieslings from 2017 made by Jeffrey Grosset from the Clare Valley. — 9 years ago
"Bad Ass in a Glass" is quite accurate here. Poured from a double magnum, this was a big wine that had people smiling and buzzing (in every sense of the word!). Globs of dark fruit, silky smooth, a touch sweet, but so well integrated.
Thank you @Martin G Rivard and @Christine for an epic 48 hours and for opening your home last night for the Super Bowl of wine tastings (and for the four different types of grilled cheese sandwiches that magically appeared toward the end of the night!).
While the wines shared last night literally were the best of the best, so too were the folks I had the pleasure of seeing again and meeting for the first time. Thank you all for making last night so memorable. I look forward to staying in touch and sharing a glass (bottle?) with you all again in the near future.

This is the "Eleve en futs de Chene" cuvée, mature Syrah aromas, minor oak aromas, the oak smoothes out the palate, still quite rich and full-bodied, long finish, really an excellent older Languedoc, kudos to Jeffrey Davies for this one!! — 9 years ago
@Jeffrey Gander blast from '89 past. Better than your only cycle in the under 10 league! — 10 years ago
Love this wine, Jeffrey from Pairings wine shop had this paired with Chili so I took it home and made some to try. Fantastic, great grape, rich with fruit and a slight sweetness to play off the spiciness of the chili. Plum, tobacco, zest of grapefruit, blackberry — 10 years ago
Light gold color with green hue. Nose of petroleum, lime, pine tree and rocks. On the palate it is quite fat (Vaseline?), hint of minerals and green with pine and dry herbs flavors, acidity and fruit on the finish. A type of Riesling I’m not having that often, more opulent and ripe, but quite tasty. Very good+ (90)
Drank along a Tonschiefer Riesling Trocken 2012 from Dönnhoff, this Mesh Riesling was the group favorite, but mine was the Dönnhoff for its higher acidity level and the additional “bite” it has.
Wine made by Jeffrey Grosset and Robert Hill Smith, renowned Australian winemakers. Made of Riesling from two vineyards and have an alcohol level of 12.5% #dansmonverre — 11 years ago
