Loved this. A full bouquet of roses and citrus and red fruit and sweet spice. Assertive on its own gentle with pork. Well balanced. — 8 years ago
The Martín Códax Winery was founded in 1986 by a group of winegrowers in Cambados, the capital of the Salnés Valle. All grapes are sourced from their own vineyards. Nice light straw yellow color with aromas of white flesh fruit and floral scents. On the palate apple, peach, pear and lemon zest, some light spice with vivid acidity. The finish displays the minerality on a lingering ending. Crisp and fresh. Very nice! Tasting Sample. — 9 years ago
Very consistent E&M style and unbeleavable under prized and ultra rare 1-3 barrels a year a Grand Cru.
I hope you are one day one of the lucky few who will taste this.! A ridicules wine needs more time. Less debts and complexity than the 2010 which was one of the best wines I had in years. These wines look light in color but that is deceiving!!!😇. They are in their own league. Less herbaceous than the 2010 less tyme and in this case cranberry notes. 0n the nose rose pedals. This needs age! — 9 years ago
Third day open and coming into its own. Zesty and round, but not too rich. — 9 years ago
Way more easily drinkable than expected. Very smooth and complex at the same time. Yet still light and fruity. Was awesome on its own. — 9 years ago
Great value! You will be hard pressed to find a better wine under $10. Great with pork or red sauce and will stand on its own. Spicy cherry, not too heavy on the tannins. — 10 years ago
Had this at a restaurant. Was delish and full on its own. — 10 years ago
Loved it! Very Rich — 11 years ago
Wow, enjoy on its own. Full bodied, currant flavors with a lil smoke on palette. Yummy for a Fall eve — 7 years ago
Decent red table wine. Enjoyed this with lasagna and was good on its own as well. — 8 years ago
9/10 because it wasn't free😆...seriously, so good! Light flavour, but holds its own! — 9 years ago
Consistently one of my favorite NV Rosé Champagnes the current release continues a glorious tradition. Fresh aromas of red apple abs very fruit with a toasty undertone and vibrant mouse. Excellent with food or on its own. Long finish — 9 years ago
I really enjoy this smooth, dry red wine. It has a beautiful fruity smell with smooth tannins when drinking, with strong cherry notes. I have enjoyed this wine on its own or paired with a variety of appetizers or meals, so its versatility is also a plus. — 9 years ago
Really, really good wine! Perfect with steak and on its own. — 9 years ago
Great porch sipper. Easy drinking but can hold its own with summer veggies, fish and even pork. — 10 years ago
Great on its own. Fruity with tannins that are just right. — 10 years ago
If chardonnay had a textbook, Hanzell would have its own chapter. — 10 years ago
Had on a random Sunday with Richie - very light and refreshing - smells great — 8 years ago
When you bring your own wine to he Hyatt. Deep in flavor, with a velvet soft finish. — 8 years ago
Held its own through the back half of a classic nouvelle cuisine menu at maison rostang. Excellent wine with hints of tobacco, spice and mineral despite the protein and fat heavy second half. — 8 years ago
First time trying the '15s and it's as great as always. This is definitely a decent amount more brawny and ripe than the '14s but still identifiable as a Lapierre wine. That said, I'm still not the biggest fan of most of these '15's so far, they are too hot and ripe and don't really fit the profile of what I want from most Beaujolais. This is still pretty good on its own merits though. Day 1 it was closed and not giving up very much but on this morning, Day 2, it's come around and opened up quite a bit. Ripe, juicy strawberry and raspberry red fruit, tart rhubarb, wild violet, smoky gravel minerality, with a nice briny, almost gamey salinity underscoring things a bit. Nice medium (+) acid, medium (-) body with a great, soft texture. Just a touch of fine, supple tannic grip. There a bit of brett and VA but they're in balance rather than being a faulty distraction; the VA helps give a little extra lift, if anything. Will try another bottle after some more time has passed because even though it's good now it honestly still needs to come together a bit more; it seemed almost still slightly bottle shocked when I first opened it yesterday. If you're opening one soon I'd recommend giving it a little air to let it unfurl. — 8 years ago
Had this wine at a friends house. Tastes great on its own and paired nicely with the grilled beef filets we had. Tons of fruit and structure. Blackberry, plum, vanilla, and spice. At this price point it will be another one of our go to weeknight gems. — 9 years ago
In its own class — 9 years ago
Super vibrant and exciting with great depth. Needs about 3 years to really come into its own. #closdesmouches #josephdrouhin #burgundy — 10 years ago
Settling into its own. Not overly green with some good fruit starting to poke its head out. — 10 years ago
My favorite easy to drink wine all on its own it stands up to the enjoyment test! — 11 years ago

Heavy on the Grenache and Mourvèdre in 2014. With a backbone of deep fruit Syrah and inky cinsaut to round it out — 7 years ago
