Normally a Merlot from Sonoma I would have zero interest in but WOW! This wine is amazing, vanilla, leather, and subtly smoke on the nose. Medium to heavy body on the palate. 5-Oh Bday Dinner... Lighter than the Rousseau in the glass. Translucent. But the nose stops you in your tracks. Wow. Huge perfume of cherries, sandalwood, brown spice, and violets.
