Nice. Sweet jam flavors. But a bit bitter at the end. Odd aftertaste — 7 years ago
This is a solid wine...the kind I would want to always have on hand for when friends come over and we are looking for a casual yet delicious selection. Nice leather, spice, black soil, and dark fruits on the nose. On the palate there is blackberry cobbler, blackberry jam, plums, and baking spices. — 8 years ago
2009 and aged to perfection. Jam, fig, plum and a dark barrel finish. From the first year we joined their club. Christmas tradition starts here! — 8 years ago
Client gift #2.... Amazingly good... Jam, Pinot noir... Perfectly balanced? Yum! — 9 years ago
Nose of menthol, jam, black tea, old cedar. Complex. Balanced mouthfeel with notable acid and decent heft. Finish layers through cigar to licorice and fresh pepper. Just right now. — 10 years ago
Smoky nose. Candi flavor, strong vanilla, jam, oak... Pretty good! — 10 years ago
Fruit and jam. Tasty. — 12 years ago
Earthy blackberry & strawberry jam. Delicious. — 7 years ago
2015. Nose: leather, black cherry. Taste: delicious, light, slightly funky, earthy, almost effervescent with a little boysenberry jam. — 7 years ago
Gorgeous aromas of black currant, blackberry jam, spice and baked/stewed dark fruit. Full bodied, luscious and a medium+ finish. The 15.5% alcohol is barely noticeable. — 8 years ago
Blackberry, Strawberry Jam and maple syrup. Really enjoyed it. — 8 years ago
Nose: smoked meat, black cherry, wet leaves and leather, dried fruit (prune) cloves, liquorice and dark choc. Soft ripe tannins. Full body. Flavours of strawberry jam and meat. Oak, rubber and leather. I could go on and on but drink this wine!! — 9 years ago
82% Zinfandel, 12% petite Syrah, 4% Carignane, 2% Alicante Bouschet., 14.2% abv. Cherry and berry jam on the nose. Could almost mistake it for a high end Rhone Syrah. But in the mouth is a different story, warm spice with cherry and dark fruit, just a hint of oaky vanilla. Ridge has always been one of my favorite vintners since way back when their wines were inexpensive. — 10 years ago
Like the name-big jammy fruit. A great value wine. Eating with home made enchiladas...a perfect combo for a week iFit. — 10 years ago
Strawberry and sandalwood on the nose. Plum/strawberry jam backed by slight pepper. 90 points. 2012 vintage. — 11 years ago
Hints of balsamic reduction and tea leaves on the nose. Beautiful crimson red in the glass from middle to rim with faint brown edges. Medium tannins and acidity. Black tea, espresso grounds, unripened plum skins and a tomato jam component on the finish. Oak is moderate and well integrated. Tannins hang in there through the finish. Paired with meatloaf...whatever bro. Eat what you got, when you can, when you work in retail. — 7 years ago
Liquid raspberries... almost like fluid jam — 8 years ago
Cherry, berry nose. Blueberry & blackberry jam taste. Slight sweet. Long tannin fruit finish. Needs a few hours to breathe, slight alcohol burn even after many hours. — 8 years ago
Pleasant floral aroma, tastes like tannic berry jam. I love the label art! — 8 years ago
Jam to the bone — 9 years ago
On the nose, jam compote, cut roses and vanilla
On the palette, the wine is dense, but well proportioned. Copious amounts of cassis, white pepper, mushrooms and capsicum glide over the tongue. Tannins are pronounced, but suave.
This is a well made and deftly balanced full-throttle blend. I'm impressed as I thought our palettes would be overwhelmed. Works well with and without food. I'd love to take another look at this 3 years from now. — 9 years ago
Dark red, nose of cassis, BlackBerry & raspberry jam, hint of eucalyptus; black fruits, plums and cassis on palate, hint of licorice/iodine in the finish, les fruity now than in youth, drink up. — 10 years ago
A wine that is always in my arsenal... Love, love, love this Garnacha! Sensual. Creamy. Smooth. Velvet. Limestone. Blackberry jam. — 10 years ago
Perfect for tonight, lots of cherry and raspberry initially, then strawberry jam and blueberry syrup. Yummmers complex — 10 years ago

Al Shikoh

Inky purple with aromas of blackberry jam, plum, chocolate, violets, and menthol. Juicy dark fruit predominant on the palate with soft tannins, 14.5% alcohol, and a long, minty finish. Drinking a bit like a California Syrah or Aussie Shiraz at this point. — 7 years ago
