Still very good after 10 years. Élégance and length. — 8 years ago
Oily and beautiful. Not brimming with acidity that will shoot to the stars, but it's softer palate feel is welcomed and very pleasant to sip on. — 9 years ago
White fruit, crisp but also volume and length. Improved after opening. Will go a few years. — 9 years ago

Wow I don’t drink a lot of Bordeaux but this was for a very special birthday and a big bottle seems in order ... it lived up to all expectations ... filled with many savory aromas in flavors like mushrooms, beef jerky, soy sauce but then also the trademark graphite/pencil lead quality. At 19 still seemed to have some years left to go before peaking!

Had a bottle of this wonderful wine in Malta on Aug 4, 2018. It is just so refreshing with a stake of veal, medium-rear done and some fresh veggies. Just great! — 7 years ago
Very complex. Apricot shines through. Tastes of baked cake. Forward, but not too flowery. — 8 years ago
Honey on opening, opens up to citrus blossom, lemon and lime, white flowers. Slight wet stone minerality. Chalky acidity and as it warms a lovely rich mouth feel with super crisp finish. — 9 years ago

Brilliant young light zesty Sauvignon Blanc. Nose: yellow apples, green peaches, celery, acacia flowers, kiwi and pineapple notes. Taste is perfectly balanced with fruity sourness and sweetness. Great choice for hot summer day with fresh oysters or clams, or light vegetables salads. — 6 years ago
First introduction to the power of J.L. Chave. Dried blueberries and cherries fill the nose followed by a rush of pepper and freshly dried herbs, particularly thyme and rosemary. Dried cranberries and red currants lead the charge on the palate with smoked meat and the earthiness that I love from Rhône style wines right behind. Terrific mouthfeel with the right amount of tannins and acidity, and a long fruit forward finish. Chave’s Hermitage is a top dream wine for me, and this just adds fuel to the fire. — 7 years ago

Opened about 30 minutes prior to dinner but no decant. Served slightly chilled. The 2016 “Blanche” pours a deep straw color with medium viscosity. Developing with notes of ripe stone fruit, tropical fruit, nutmeg, white pepper, minerals and cotton candy. On the palate, the wine is dry with lower acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. This is a wine of impeccable texture to match the king crab legs with dinner. Drink now through 2031. — 9 months ago
