Better with age. — 6 years ago
Vidal Fleury was founded in 1781 by Joseph Vidal functioning as the oldest winery in the Rhone Valley. A blend of 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre, dark red with aromas of black fruits and subtle floral scents. On the palate beautiful red berry fruits with cacao and spice. Soft tannins showing maturity, lingering ending with a good hold on the fruit and spice. Very nice, great to drink now. — 7 years ago

Excellent. Let it breathe a bit. Great with.. boeuf bourguignon of course!! — 6 years ago
Tastes a little flatter than I expected, probably because of 9 years of age.
Be that as it may, medium + body and very fruit-forward flavor profile. Decent acidity and mouthfeel.
Primary notes on the pallet are cured meat, acai berry, black pepper, and plum skin. Hint of tar and gamey jerky. — 7 years ago
Aged to perfection! Little bit of funk, little bit of pepper, lot a bit of deliciousness! — 7 years ago
Strong acid backbone. A little young still @2009 in late 2017 but totally drinkable after decanting. — 8 years ago
Very elegant and restrained. Floral and anise aromas, surprisingly delicate finish. Wonderful balance, opened up very quickly after decanting — 8 years ago
I can't believe I'm drinking a 31 year old gigondas. And the tanned are so soft, they might be guacanos. Delicious fruit. — 10 years ago
Very good especially a bit of time after opening. Medium bodied with bit of fruit and drier finish. Great with food... served for Thanksgiving. — 10 years ago

Bright ruby center and violets on the rim. Medium viscosity. On the nose, I found ripe cherries, blueberries and hints of blackberry followed by smoky meat, spices and finally some mineral tones. Multilayered aromas and obvious complexity coming through. On the palate, confirmed these and also picked up bacon and chocolate’y tones. Tannins were very much there, but in balance with acidity and alcohol. Finish was long and savory. Outstanding Syrah that will continue to get better over the next 5-10 years. — 5 years ago
