This being aged in amphorae, it has always had that bright, powdery, open acidity, and I wasn’t sure how it would age, but it’s going great - that character is still there, and it’s even a little gassy at first, but the acid is more integrated with the brambly fruit, which is itself opening to reveal more complexity — 5 years ago
Two grapes I had not known before blend to make a delicious blend! Fruit forward with only a touch of spice. — 6 years ago
This was a fascinating Italian White from Piemonte. This is 100% Timorasso a varietal that was rescued from near obscurity by Walter Massa. It’s native and unique to the Colli Tortonesi. In the past many growers were ripping out Timorosso and planting the more prolific and boring Cortese (Gavi). Thank God for Massa once you taste this. Mid Gold in colour. Rich and textural with notes of fruit salad and honey. Apparently aged versions show petrol like aged Riesling. Amazingly zero new oak. On the palate an absolute fruit salad of flavours with a note of guava. Medium Acid. A flat out delicious wine which I will definitely seek out in the future. Could keep this in the short term but irresistible now. Bought at Roscioli in Rome @Ceccherini Cristiano - your old haunt as a sommelier. One of the 1001 Wines. — 6 years ago
I love this. Very similar to Chloe — 9 years ago
Bought this to cook with. Not a big Pinot Grigio fan. Most Pinot Grigio are too mineral for my taste. Tried a glass with an eggplant salad spiced with poblano pepper and it paired nice. Liked much better paired them by itself. Closer to a Sauvignon blanc in my opinion which is one of my preferred whites. I would buy again. — 9 years ago
The master of Timorasso from Colli Tortonesi (southeast Piemonte) makes a juicy, unfined, unfiltered Barbera with only native yeasts and no oak at all to let the punchy, palette acidity shine as equally as the fruit. Thank you sir may I have another. — 5 years ago
Bone dry Italian white I got from Wine Access. This wine is so foral on the nose and goes great with cheese. Perfect wine to start the evening. — 5 years ago
@Jordan Wardlaw read my mind. I had the same thoughts - those who enjoy the better balanced Sonoma County Zins will appreciate this #montepulcianodabruzzo for the tremendous value that it is. Classically Italian nose with some tobacco, earth and spice aromas. There’s a wave of juicy dark fruit, coffee notes, and mouthwatering acidity. — 5 years ago
Rose petal, mint, violets, sweet red cherries and licorice....classic Nebbiolo...magnificent from the very first taste. I imagine another 15-20 years wouldn’t hurt... — 8 years ago
I have to rate this the same as the 2013 Scarzon. They are clearly different occasions but equally phenomenal. You can see the riper fruit and longer maceration. It's heavy and is meant to age. I can't get enough of the Foradori estate. — 9 years ago
For $11 and a style I don't love, this is excellent t! Acidic berries. — 9 years ago
Good new vintAge. I don't love it as much as the last vintage. — 10 years ago
Clean, fruity and light — 10 years ago
Lovely sweet fruit and interesting complexity — 11 years ago
Definitely needs a decant. I decanted 30 minutes and it needed more. Dark red color with ever so subtle brownish tones. Nose contains pencil shavings and ripe vegetables. Wine is very green with hints of cranberry and plum. Tastes much higher than the listed 13% OH. Wine reminds me of the 2010 Domaine Eden Cab Sauv. — 5 years ago
Yum, red forest fruits, spice, tea, nice tannins and a long finish, but I don’t think it has reached the 2010 levels — 8 years ago
Super light on color and taste. Really enjoyable. Prob good with fish or any light meal. Easy in summer I bet. Cynthia recommendation. — 8 years ago
These wines just make you smile. I dare you sip this and frown. Layers of depth and intriguing earth tones, long finish that leaves the warm honey sensation in the back of your mouth. Fresh white fruit, apricots and orange blossoms. Earth is sensational and reminds you of wet granite and soft Indian spices. Makes you so happy. — 9 years ago
Rispetto alla 2009 i tannini sono più fini e i terziari si stanno evolvendo con un piacevole sentore di liquirizia che arriva nel finale — 9 years ago
Gosh darn I love Nebbiolo! — 10 years ago
I really liked this wine. Nice full bodied taste for a Pinot. — 10 years ago

Grabbed this from my ‘use for cooking’-shelf and tried a glass while I was stirring.
Actually, this was quite nice. Great dark fruit, Good amount of oak, some rocky/spicy/volcanic seasonings.
A very good daily drinker!
