Grand wine, loved it. Lots of life, rich with so many layers. I believe it’s still had more age-ability still. — 8 years ago
Best I have had in some time. — 9 years ago
Wow. Who knew we would find one of the best bottles on our trip so far at a "hypermarket" selling for €30. Primitivo, I understand to be similar to zin, is one of the two great reds produced in Puglia. Very elegant, easy on the palate and yet held up with red orechiette. — 9 years ago
Amazing bottle! Cherries, some earthy tones, and lots of Italian love!! So glad I have a second bottle. — 9 years ago
I love this wine. — 9 years ago
I may just get into this whole natural wine thing... The vino went down quite easy and the price was unbelievable. 10/10 will come back to this island. — 10 years ago
I thought bodega Sicilia was only in riveria del Douro but I was clearly wrong. Perfect pairing with sucking pig. — 10 years ago
thanks mom! — 10 years ago
I was pleasantly surprised by this. My friends said propolis and camphor. Nice freshness, minerally, pretty delish with shrimp and grits — 10 years ago
I might confused this wine with southern Pino Noir or Nebbiolo from sandy soils. Highly mineral to the nose, silicon burnt grass, gum and strawberry and a lot of fruits. Good tannins , very well balanced and have a potential to grow. Old vines (100yr ) and lava soils, French oak malolactics , fermentation. Vanilla and allspice in secondary fragrances. — 7 years ago
Rich and spicy. '15 is a bit youthful. Silky mouth feel. Slightly earthy. Cinnamon. Medium tannins. Hard to argue with the $20 price point. Great value. — 9 years ago
Lovely wine. I like the Sicilian style. This was a super smooth red. Dark fruit with some spice, and low tannins. Almost drank the entire bottle by myself — 9 years ago
Great full bodied wine to pair with salami and cheese! — 9 years ago
This is one of those nights. Not sure how the food is going to come out. Cooking with no particular wine choice in mind. But when it all comes together...wow!!
I paired this wine with gravy, courtesy of @Peter Coticchia
The nose was clearly deep red fruit. Color was bright red on the brim. On the tongue, medium body and loads of cherry. The acidity was high, but still very balanced and well structured overall. A pure delight!!! — 9 years ago
Intense at first in the nose with muddled cherry and blackberry in liquor, this wine is in control with perfectly integrated oak and fine silky tannin. I expect much more of a beast in the glass but this is beautiful and classy. The fruit on the palate has mellowed out and adds spice and grilled herbs. #toro #tintadetoro aka #tempranillo #vegasicilia — 10 years ago
Way too easy to drink. And cheap. Cheap and easy. Just what I like. Mildly acidic dry fruit finish, soft red cherries, no sweetness but nothing harsh, either. Just really lovely. #nerellomascalese #sicily #italy #rosato #dogsofdelectable — 10 years ago
I love this GD wine. — 10 years ago
Nero D'Avola is a favorite of mine, as far as an everyday drinking wine goes I just love Nero D'Avola. — 12 years ago
Like a silk jacket! @Greg Gregory — 7 years ago
This was an exciting, complex, delish wine. Tart red fruit, great acidity, fine tannins and the perfect amount of forest floor/ herbal/ funk. Bet it would be amazing in a few years. But woops glad I didn't wait — 8 years ago
Consistent with the 2010 I had the night before — 9 years ago
1985, 1990 and 1991 blend. Medium tawny colour. The nose is expressive displaying complex aromas of nail varnish remover, tobacco, dark plums, cherries, cedar, mint and walnuts. It is dry in the mouth with a firm acidity and velvety tannins. It is slightly warm but well-balanced by a nice concentration and very long finish. The only thing I don't like about it is that the fruit seems to be dead, just lifted by the volatile acidity. — 10 years ago
Its aglianico, so I love it, but there is better out there. — 10 years ago
Bigger and richer than I want from a Grillo, but still inneresting — 10 years ago
Just what I want from an Italian white! Delicious. — 10 years ago

Gave this baby a whirl on a whim and it didn’t disappoint. I was scared of it coming from a larger producer but it had depth and nuance. It did need time to open. — 6 years ago
