Not a typical California chardonnay - more acidity, less (no) oak, and lower alcohol. Great when you are looking for an old world chardonnay but prefer to support wine makers you know. — 5 years ago

This wine is singing. Very focused lemon preserve and ocean rock on the nose. Sharp entry with nice acid balance and almost ripe peach, finishing with mineral lift. 😀 — 9 years ago
Beautiful Hyde Pinot. Amazing — 7 years ago

Lovely “colder” climate Syrah. Elegant, leather notes, raspberry, blackberry. 2014 — 4 years ago
Honey, lemon, and hints of minerality. This is something special. — 4 years ago
Lighter in style. This wine has a lighter honeydew and melon kind of nose with dried herb. Entry is acidic, under-ripe kiwi and pear that stays lean in the middle. Getting some oak on the finish. Lots of life ahead on this wine. — 5 years ago
So well made. Kissed with oak but lovely acidity. — 7 years ago

2021/4. I feel like de Villaine’s Chardonnays have a bit more depth and savor than they did a decade ago - and they were certainly good then. This was lovely, with lots of fresh fruit and acidity but some sneaky stone, butter and hazelnut lurking. — 3 years ago
