Pop and pour. On the nose: clove, cinnamon, muddled strawberry, blackberries and sugar. On the palate: at first, ok acidity, and not so well-delineated flavors; burnt sugar, then acidity picks up, and the palate is clearer: blackberry and blueberry, clove, and then a wall of finely grained tannin..the finish is a little too staccato, but good energy after the wall of tannin fades a bit, and good length. Still, very tasty! — 5 years ago
Luscious, big Cab from WA. The tannins are well-tamped down with food. Spicy finish. Very nice indeed. — 5 years ago
Excellent. Need to decant for 30 min for smooth finish — 7 years ago
Nice color of dark burgundy with purple hue. Nose is seducing with plenty amount of dried strawberries and ripe banana or mango, crayon, wet dust. The nose keeps surfacing and doesn’t end. Taste is following the nose with some more flavors like subtle sweetness and zest, tobacco leaves, and really nice oak. Acidity, cooking spices like oregano, and tannins show up in the aftertaste, medium long. A very distinct Cab that is so different from traditional California Cab. She reminds me of high end Amarone. — 8 years ago
Crisp, Clean.... looking forward to enjoying this with U2 Shrimp — 8 years ago
Deep rich, cherries, some underlying pepper. Dry, balanced tannins. A keeper, especially at this price. — 4 years ago
For a Washingtonian wine on the upper half of the scale but just can’t throw above a 9 — 5 years ago

The Mercer Malbec looks dark ruby in the glass. The nose offers some beautiful dark fruit - plums, blackberries and currant - and sticks a lovely dose of French oak in there. A nice, savory hint of black olives lurks in the background. The palate is just as enjoyable, with a fruity focus augmented by peppery spice and cinnamon. This is a wine that will be a hit at the holiday table, no doubt. It's a festive, fun red that can hold its own with the standing rib roast. — 8 years ago
Smooth, med. bodied, cherry & leather, lightly spicy. — 9 years ago
