I'm not a huge fan of Chardonnays but this was refreshing — 10 years ago
Sweet, fruity and slightly acidic at the start, dry and round in the finish. Great summer sipper! Available through WineShop at Home. — 10 years ago
Tannins galore in the 2013 vintage. Would love to try with the herb roasted chicken and potatoes recipe that comes with the wine. — 11 years ago
Tonight I was cooking a steak and sautéed veggies for dinner so I thought I'd go to the eminently food friendly Castello San Sano Chianti Classico from 2005 tonight in an homage to last year's Tuscany trip. A Bistecca alla Fiorentina scaled down to Toronto in mid-winter. As there wasn't time to decant the bottle, I aerated the wine through my vinturi and gave it a try. The colour is a deep garnet red. Initial thoughts are a very pleasant aroma with lots of raisins and red fruits. The Sangiovese exhibits good tannins and some acidity to balance the fruits nicely. The finish is medium and fairly pleasant. Glad there are more bottles in the cellar! — 11 years ago

The 'homage to Chablis' is meant to show the reductive side of Chardonnay winemaking. Rich and 'springy', great presence of minerality on the finish. — 10 years ago

Nose of lavender, strawberry, cherry and topsoil. Well balanced palate of raspberry, cherry, black pepper. Very food friendly acidity and tannin. A playful homage to CdP and very effective. — 10 years ago

First time with Homage, and '94?! Beautiful wine that's still rippling with fruit at two decades young. — 11 years ago
Red wine - great with steak or for sipping — 12 years ago
Such a relief to have a red wine blend not follow the current trend of fruit bombs flooding the market. This has black pepper and pencil lead with balanced tannins followed up my long espresso to mocha finish. Picking up a little smokiness and minerality translation through the terrior. Very good on its own but food really balances the whole thing out specifically the roasted tomatoes, bacon and grilled fiesta chicken I had for dinner. The Malbec is a refreshing alternative to the sometimes over ripened Mendoza Malbecs. Chilean Malbec, to me, is like the best of Mendoza & Patagonia while paying homage to Cahors. Gray versatile wine for under $15. — 10 years ago
A fantastic Bordeaux blend by Helene Seillan. Perfect balance of merlot and cab franc. An homage to the classic French style. — 10 years ago
Not usually a fan of whites, period. This was recommended by someone at Total Wine. I am pleasantly surprised. Perfect for a warm summer evening. Fruity without being overly oaky. I will get it again. — 11 years ago
One of my favorites. Lots of richness and complexity but it doesn't lose the lightness and minerality that I love from this area. El pecado=the sin, roman slaves who worked this vineyard called it hell bc it was so steep, this is Raùl's homage to them. 2011 vintage — 11 years ago
50 Zin, 24 Pinot Noir, 10 Gewurtztraminer, 6 Merlot, 5 Chard. Dayden, their "homage to dry rose." A high elevación AZ vineyard. — 11 years ago

This delightful, approachable and balanced wine from the famous Willamette Valley is a standout from a challenged year. A balanced wine, earthy elegance, dark red fruit aromas and tastes, it finishes the experience with expressive but not overbearing tannins. Its smoothness pays homage to its time in French Oak that does not over power the wonderful notes of red fruit and cranberries. This velvet delight has the length you want for full enjoyment. 13.1 Alcohol — 9 years ago
