Aujourd’'hui Comme Autrefois Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Recognizable as sauv blanc, but so different from my frequent New Zealand sauv blancs. No grapefruit or grassiness. No cat pee. Just classic sauv blanc fragrance and minerality. — 10 years ago

Very light red, mild sweetness but not fruit forward. No dryness, light tannins but not deep flavor, overall smooth an easy drinker. — 13 years ago

Guarda Cabernet Franc

Tart red fruit aromas of cherry and underripe blackberry. A bit of leather on the nose. Medium tannin and medium body. On the palate, green bell pepper, tobacco, and black cherry — 10 years ago

Les Collines Blanches Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Bright, crisp and fresh with very fruit-forward characteristics (green apples and grapefruits). The fruit is balanced pretty well by honey on the long finish. Great wine for a hot summer night....and homemade chicken masala.

Mendoza Malbec 2012

A proud Malbec. Mix of flavor with personality. Definitely worth another bottle. Old cheese a good friend. Steak even better — 11 years ago

Provignage Romorantin 2005

Smashing wine. Comparable to aged Chenins like those from Joly but with a gritty, gripping quality that can only be a sign of the vines' age. The 2005 consumed tonight had another 20 years of elegance. Unfortunate that this was our only bottle! — 10 years ago

Given my predisposition for temperanillos and malbecs, I was surprised how much I liked this. Light and somewhat sweet. — 10 years ago
