A serious wine with different layers of black fruits aromas — 11 years ago
This is extremely pure and concentrated Riesling from one of its most famous ambassadors, Helmut Dönnhoff. Super ripe yet purest Riesling flavors on the nose, think of raisins and honey and a touch of pink grapefruit. On the palate this 6 vol-% ice wine is thick and oily textured and very sweet due to the super concentration of 2010. However, this all is beautifully structured by the piquant acidity which both give this wine vibrancy and an eternal life. 0.375 l cost approx. 100 Euro. World class Riesling. Drink now or better in 40, 50, or 80 years. (Sorry but it's Riesling...) — 12 years ago
No barrique, no complicated notes. Just a perfect easy drinking wine! A wine you'll love and remembers at some perfect moments in holidays like in Italy or France...but it comes from Germany!! Just congrats! — 11 years ago
This is another fun wine if you can find it. Austria. — 12 years ago

quite frankly it's not an insider tip to present helmut / cornelius dönnhoff's jewels, but this (in austria) quite underrated wine may be one of the best of the kabinett vintage 2013! the acidity vibrantly merges with the 40g plus residual sugar (43,9 to be very precise); presenting stone fruit, touch of exotic fruits as melon and mango, citrus cest, white blossoms and salty finish - easy going and for contemplation at the same time. you wanna DRINK it - touché!
the recommendation for asian / fruit and herb driven cuisine is obvious... — 10 years ago
