Beautiful dark crimson red, slightly cloudy. Awesome nose of very good intensity, and a beautiful array of fruity and exotic aromas. Shoe polish and cherry cola primary aromas. Secondary scents of manure dark chocolate or cocoa. Very good presence upon entrance in the palate, with tanginess in the tip of the tongue that evolves marvelously, showing great grip, very pleasant acidity, good balance, great length, and complexity to fill it up, and coat you palate, leaving you with a very long finish, and sensations of chocolate covered cherries, and then cocoa beans and expresso flavors at the end. This is not an entry-level wine by any means. It is complex, intriging, very food worthy, and beautiful. Well made, well designed wine, with good harmony, great grip, and long, sweet tannins. 92+ pts. — 12 years ago

The blend with Cab gives this Tannat more dimension. Pretty soft, dark fruit some blackcurrant and, strangely but pleasantly, apricot too. Soft tannins, good acid, a little too much oak. Still good. — 10 years ago
