Dark gold in color with a deep nose with honeyed fruit and a hint of mint on the end. A lovely oily mouthfeel. Some spice, confit lemon, orange, and a little sandalwood. Acidity fully integrated and a lovely roundness. Beautiful. — 5 years ago
Last night, a buddy of mine who’s a Disabled Veteran and Registered Architect, announced that he was assuming control of a SDVOSB Architecture firm. He had spent the better part of a year of trying to reach a purchase agreement. So it was an evening of celebration. He’s been a Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars fan for some time and he planned to pull the cork on a few bottles. We had a couple of rando bottles too but all were California Cabernet Sauvignon. This was the opening salvo and a very good one at that. Perfumed, lush, velvety fruit with lovely structure. Hugely quaffable and already drinking very well with a short decant but I think this is pretty characteristic of the 2014 vintage. — 6 years ago
Tour d’Argent. Surprisingly young color, light gold. At first it’s soft and delicate. With air it shows notes of citrus, tan spice, white clay, minerals and some cardamom. Starts with great fruit and has structure and acidity that builds with air. There’s a sweetness that stays with it over 3 hours. Great wine. — 7 years ago
Distinct flavors. Dark black cherry. Chocolate and tobacco. Smell and taste the terroir. — 7 years ago
Rich and mouthfilling with notes of brioche toast, lemon curd and almonds. Love ‘02. — 8 years ago
Fresh, light gold. Bright and vibrant in the glass. Even more vibrant in the nose. Exotic, notes of lemon peel, wet river stone, petrol, slate, apricot and spice. Great rich fruit matches some impactful acidity. Long finish. This is great juice, still young, and has some more to give down the road. — 8 years ago
First vintage bottled under the new Eagle Peak AVA. Already drinking fantastic out of the bottle with a perfectly perfumed nose and a texture that tells you stems were involved during fermentation. About 15% carbonic maceration on this vintage. — 10 years ago
Boyz Raveneau tasting. From a very well kept bottle with a high fill. Light to med gold/straw color. More closed than the others. Rich and viscous in the mouth. Some heat in terms of the presence of alcohol. With air this really opened up. After 3 hours this was singing. — 10 years ago
One of the great White Pinot Noirs made in the world, I have been fascinated by this wine since it was first made more than a decade ago. The 2017 ‘Coeur Blanc’ opens with an enticing bouquet of cantaloupe, marzipan, white rose and shades of Pazzaz apple that all meld together nicely in the glass. The palate reveals a refined, silky texture and entices. Generous on the mouth, this white Pinot Noir unveils seriously good range from melon tones to green apple and shades of wild mushroom and wet stone. The bright sense of minerality and the generous texture really sing here. While outstanding now, this true heavyhitter of a wine will only become more silky and complex as it ages. Mid Gold in colour, looking way older than it actually is. Strong aromas of Apricot and to a lesser extent honeysuckle and White flowers. An unctuous flavoursome full bodied palate exhibiting great texture and intensity with the Apricot coming through. Finishes Dry. Delicious and different. Will purchase more. Muscat of Alexandria also known as Zibibbo in Sicily. — 7 years ago

Consumed 12/2017. Full rich flavors of berry, Cassis and black cherry with hints of vanilla in the background. Aging with French oak adds complexity and depth, resulting in a high-quality Cabernet with great value. For me, this wine has to breath for a couple of hours before I like it. — 8 years ago

From a great looking bottle with high fill and perfect cork. Yellow gold and heavy weight in the glass. Bright tropical nose with notes of citrus fruit, river stone, petrol, clove and orange peel. Nice and round in the mouth but still with great acidity. Coats the taste buds. This was better in the first two hours than when compared to the last 4 hours. Paired well with cold heirloom tomato gazpacho soup. — 9 years ago
Medium gold. Lemon tart, yeasty, tulip, green apple, raisin. Honeysuckle, buttery, cream, with traces of caramel. Glittering with beauty. This ruins every sweet wine I'll ever have. — 10 years ago
One of my Fave Chard’s....Very Smooth!
And still tastes great after 4 yrs in my collection, evidence by my bottle!! — 5 years ago
I feel that this is probably the best Pinot Noir producer out of the finger lakes although the competition is finally a good one. The nose has a wonderful aroma of currant a plum with undertones of spice including nutmeg and mulling spices. The palate is gorgeously light and elegant but still somewhat juicy at the same time. Flavors of plum, sour cherry and baking spice along with wonderfully balance acidity. The finish is soft and elegant with juicy fruit notes of lingering acidity. Wow... a great pairing for roasted pork. — 7 years ago
Yellow gold. Nice weight. Floral and mineral nose. Notes of honeysuckle, powdered stone, peach, lemon, white dirt and some cardamom. In the mouth it's rich and coats with nice acidity. Coche-like in its delivery tonight. One of the better Roulot 05 performances for me. — 7 years ago
My last 2011 bottle. The estate of Sette Ponti lies in the heart of the Chianti zone, 15 miles northwest of the city of Arezzo, past the village of San Giustino Valdarno. Crognolo, aged in French Allier barriques, deep red with red fruit aromas and sweet perfumed spice. On the palate raspberry and cherry flavors, gentle spice and soft tannins with great mouthfeel. Good balance, lingering finish ending with some oak and mineral tones. Aged well. — 8 years ago
Dark gold in color with an intense nose with lots of kick. Good acid and a lovely round palate. Citrus, and minerality. Almost sizzles on the finish. Powerful — 9 years ago

Light golden color, nose with cream and baking spices, fresh apple pie. Palate has gold apple, green melon, vanilla, little bit of oak spice. Little bit rich (partial malo) but not overwhelming. Medium acids. round finish. has potential many more years of maturation. #latour #grandcru #cortoncharlemagne — 10 years ago
Just an amazing expression of Terroir, totally naked and brilliantly balanced, including dusty tannins and dito minerality, Syrah spice and a meat stock infused finish. Note to Self - Clos Saron rules! — 12 years ago

Medium gold, heavy in the glass. Awesome aged Raveneau nose. Notes of citrus, kimmeridgian white stone and light colored dirt, some honey, some spice. Great mouth feel, with acidity that powered up over 4-5 hours. Awesome with some angel hair pasta and shrimp, looking out over the Kohala Coast. — 5 years ago
