Initially you get apples, gooseberries and lemon on the nose then comes vanilla and elderflower. The initial taste was subtle gooseberries and hazel nuts with a spoon full of creme fresh. The finish is short but beautiful and you are left with a faint taste of vanilla. — 11 years ago
Deep notes of hazel nuts, dried raisins and apricots and leather. Very smooth, mature with great acidity! Long finishhhhhhh! — 11 years ago
Russian river, vanilla, hazel. at wellingtons. really good $42. — 14 years ago
This is a skin changer wine: one minute later smell completely different: dark plum, roasted hazel nuts, slightly stale white ground pepper, pencil shavings, cassis, burning candles, leather. Med body, nice length, med tannins. Prunes, touch cinnamon, laurel. Leather violets cherry palate. Followed by oat, cherry, plum. Hibiscus and tobacco in empty glass — 10 years ago
A standard bearer for modern Crozes-Hermitage. Baked blueberry pie, purple flowers, corn meal, tobacco leaf, and crushed rock. Spicy, witch hazel, and plenty of grip on the palate. Really delicious vintage! — 10 years ago
One of my favorite all time producers and Crus of Barbaresco! Still can go many more years. Sweet tobacco, hazel nut, earth, rose petal... — 11 years ago
This is a soft and beautiful wine from a relatively unknown grape. It took me a little by storm. I love a good surprise in the wine world and this has given it to me.
Initial nose is of melons and apples with a little citrus zest.
The taste is delicate and slightly floral, I am thinking elderflower. But as it developed there is hazel nuts and a little bit of smoked salmon. It has a long finish for such a light wine.
I love it. — 11 years ago
Heavenly heavy nuts of hazel, peCan, light cane sugar, ground almond dryed bouquet of flowers, ancient forgotten dryed fruit of apricot, slight light anise, but I read between the lines and the abridged version says bring me a coconut creme pie stat — 11 years ago
Excellent. Hearty with tinges of hazel nut and wet morning rain. Chewy on the pallet with soft tannins. — 10 years ago
Don't remember the taste enough to rate but im sure it was good! — 11 years ago
Had it to a fried fresh cod with broccoli, butter/olivoil/fir needles sauce, and roasted hazel nuts. Perfect! Do work fine with just parmesan cheese as well... — 11 years ago
