Deep purple beauty with muddled black fruit, menthol, and graphite on the nose....a mouthful of stewed plum, white pepper, and oak shadings precede a decent tannic kick.... — 7 years ago
Fabulous Syrah. — 7 years ago
Classic Russian River. Not fruity but bright red fruit through palate. — 9 years ago
Amazing balance - the earthiness, along w/ sour cherry fruit and a bit of earth, mushroom and spice made this an outstanding Pinot! I couldn't stop smelling it...and drinking it — 11 years ago
Coffee, vanilla, plums, raisins on the nose. Light to medium fruit with hints of coffee, caramel, toasted oak, and a hint of tannins. This has a nice balance of fruit, spice and tannins, but is a little light for my taste. This bottle is quite enjoyable, but Hartford has others that are better. — 3 years ago
Selection from the wine list at Opal Restaurant. Lively and pleasant aromatics of raspberry, clove, and black tea. Soft tannins on the mid-palate with charm.; leading to a nice medium finish. This is more of a pleasant wine than a special occasion selection. Perfect for dinner out on a school night. — 4 years ago
It’s a very rich style chardonnay, but it’s unapologetically delicious. Professional scores have it as high as 97 and the purity of fruit along with the deft use of french oak and balanced acidity are certainly deserving. It strikes a nice balance even with everything amped up and an alcohol level of 14.6%. Only 326 cases made, if you see a bottle in the wild drink it! — 4 years ago
Light, delicate, red fruits. — 7 years ago
An amazing combination of decaying earthiness meets candied berry sweetness. Unique and extremely well executed wine. — 7 years ago

Bordeux. Bought in Hartford — 11 years ago
Cved 12/24/20. Dark garnet color. Nose of ripe fruits and a bit of vanilla carrying over to palate with warm embracing palate and bits of creamy oak. Very well made modern style Zin and big contrast to older and more classical Topolos. — 3 years ago
2016 and is fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. A masterpiece. — 4 years ago
Absolutely delicious! Brian, you have never steered me wrong! — 5 years ago
A beautiful, soft nose with notes of plum, blackberries, black raspberries, kirsch and a touch of wild flowers. The palate is surprisingly light and elegant with bright acidity. Flavors of black raspberries, kirsch and a touch of soy lead to notes of oak and spice. The finish is long and elegant with lingering acidity and bramble fruits. — 6 years ago
Lovely wine, has a little salinity to it in my opinion — 7 years ago
Classic Buttery, citrus after taste. Great for seafood or as a aperitif cocktail — 8 years ago
Full Body, Spicy — 8 years ago
Deep, inky purple in the glass with generous blackberry flavors and a spicy, tannic finish. Never met a Hartford Zin I didnt like... — 9 years ago

It explodes from the glass with gregarious allspice and nutmeg notions over a core of warm peaches, guava, and pear tart with suggestions of gingerbread and toast. Medium-bodied, the palate is much more elegant and restrained than the nose suggests, delivering seriously minerally notes and loads of freshness, finishing long and chalky. — 3 years ago
