Viña Tondonia Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2003

Dried fruits and port like aromatics. Menthol, tobacco, oak, musty, dry with acid, tannin and alcohol in perfect balance. Very complex and ready to drink now. Serve with dry herbed lamb or aged hard cheese. 75% Temp 15% Garnacho 5% Graciano 5% Mazuelo — 10 years ago

Almar Orchards

J.K.'s Scrumpy Orchard Gate Gold Hard Cider

My favorite cider. A sweeter cider but well balanced and slightly spicy for an overall great flavor profile. Their Saskatoon cider is great if you are looking for something a little sweeter and more unusual. — 10 years ago

Belle Glos

Meiomi Pinot Noir 2013

I read on Delectable that this Pinot is a Cab lover's Pinot and she was right. I usually pass on Pinot because a good one is so hard for me to find. But this one is really, really good. I've had the Belle Glos from Meiomi, which I've liked as well, but this is equally as good. Great spice along with the fruit. Found this on sale on Cape Cod for $17 - a bargain for wine that drinks like this. — 10 years ago

This is the second bottle. More concentration, density with a broader stance. Drinking younger than the first. Hard to decide, but I give a nudge to the first bottle for its beauty and delicacy. — 11 years ago

Château Mouton Rothschild

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1945

Tasted June 20, 2015. A perfect bottle that lived up to its reputation. So hard to find one with guaranteed provenance and not a fake. From the German cellar of Armin Diel, Mahler-Besse. Almost overwhelming chocolate mint, dust, great tannic structure, cherry cola, eucalyptus bark, vanilla, unchanged in the glass for two hours. This wine will likely live another 100 years. — 10 years ago

1990: Corked, unfortunately. My mom had the best line, "It sure tastes better than it smells!" I recall what it was like on release, hard candy sweetness with a surprisingly light framework, particularly compared to both the '88 & '89 on release, and the crazy depth of the'90 Ch. Filholt Creme de tete, which was massively concentrated. This bottle still had oomph, yet wasn't all there. — 10 years ago

#Bordeaux at its finest takes my breath away. Too beautiful to pair with food, the 1982 #ChevalBlanc was as resplendent as its famed vintage and estate. Quite a hard act to follow. 🍷 #winetasting #StEmilion — 10 years ago

Vigneto Monvigliero Barolo Nebbiolo 2006

Beautiful and there's no Barolo like it. Pretty accessible for the first couple of hours and then it clenched down hard. The aromatics are gorgeous and there is a wonderful clarity and purity to the wine. Wine of the night. — 12 years ago
