This is the '05 so-called "Blue Label" which isn't very blue, but I digress. I was a little rough on the last Lillian I opened, which I believe was the '06 regular bottling. It was a might underwhelming. This bottle has more highs than lows. Inky black color. Swirl the wine and you can't count the legs in the glass. Absolute knockout nose of licorice, spice and Dr Pepper. Best part of the experience for me. SO inviting. The downside is that the fruit is a little muted. Still some black fruit essence, however. And a bit hot on the finish. I guess I would still say it's best days are in the rear view mirror, but I'll hang on to a few to revisit somewhere down the road. Apologies to @Bill Bender for the absence of breasts in the photo. — 9 years ago
Red and dark berries, eucalyptus notes, suede. Fine busy present tannins. Could probably hang out another year or two. — 9 years ago
Big wine. Roses on the nose, fragrant deep aroma. Very tannic, really needed more time. Chewy rich mouthfeel with flavors of plum skin and black pepper. I recommend letting this one hang out for another two years or so. Needs a very fatty ribeye to cut the tannins. — 9 years ago
A near perfect rosé at a great price. I prefer this soft fruit tempered by a light floral note all properly and proportionately positioned against a mineral intensive rocky bottom as swift waters twist and turn their way downstream leaving one's palate clean and refreshed but laced with the memory of the moment😎🌀 - buy the magnum at my favorite local Morehead City, NC hang - Promise Land Market (thx sweet Janeen and Daniel for spinning some crazy sweet tunage!)! Find this place in all its realness, and drink this wine! — 10 years ago
Nice flavored, good hang time. — 10 years ago
Some browning on the edges suggests that the wine is showing some age. Bright fruit on the nose with pomegranate, cherry pie filling, and notes of truffle. The palate was silky with just the right balance of oak, acid, and tannins. Based on the color, I would suggest drinking over the next 5 years instead of trying to hang on. — 10 years ago
Delicious. Young but absolutely perfect with beef tender and all the sides. Excited to hang on to a bottle for a few more years — 10 years ago
Always good to hang in napa with @edanch and @bluedanubewine. — 12 years ago
Smokey, dusky, smouldering red fruit
Light, lithe, possesses volcanicity - that sense of a wine that is airy like a pumice stone; Fine texture, it opens up to reveal a loose and fine structure. — 9 years ago
Just opened this lovely wine, gifted to me from another female winemaker, Jules, of Jules Taylor, who makes a really beautiful Pinot Noir as well. Bright but nice weight and length in this. Viscous. Apple. Lychee. Makes me want to go to New Zealand and hang out with her. — 9 years ago

2012 badia a coltibuobo estate chianti classico. Extremely pretty. "We've identified 170 grape varieties in the old chianti blends. " if you ever get a chance you hang with Roberto do it! Conversation topics he's enlightening on include biodynamic farming, sangiovese clonal selection history, chianti subzone terrior, the Milan concert seen of the early 70's, the velvet underground, hitchhiking the American west safely and efficiently, Fela Kuti, southern Oregon communes, biodiversity in vineyards, macro economic theory and sangiovese as a soil amplifier. Roberto speaks softly and carries a massive wit. #greatpeopleofwine — 10 years ago
Busted loose the 2008 to assess early drinking potential. A sacrifice of one bottle for five. Honestly, there is something about 2008 Brunellos that are less austere/classic than 2006, but do not possess that tiny bit of burn from the heat of 2007. So, drink earlier (now) or wait for another 4-7 years. 2008s are drinkers and keepers. — 10 years ago
nice full flavor. red licorice. loose juicy mouth feel. — 11 years ago
The Gombaude-Guillot, one of the few Bordeaux wines the Kermit Lynch works with, is a Pomerol that has the textbook satin-like tannin, a byproduct of the Merlot grape planted in these hallowed clay soils up on the Pomerol Plateau. Still plenty young, the fruit was plush but not too generous, showing juicy red fruits that buttressed and a subtle core of earth and minerality. Drink now or hang on for another 10 years easy. — 8 years ago
Holding up well. Dark and brooding profile. Wooden musk. Dense structure hints at being able to hang in bottle even longer. Touch of a hot finish. — 9 years ago
This is a warm buttery hug when I arrive home from work. When I'm craving a Chardonnay, I'm going to reach for this Sancerre. Smooth finish that doesn't hang out on palette too long. Easy & enjoyable — 9 years ago

This is my new go-to. Full of flavor, robust, and just the right amount of hops. Plus brewed in MD. What more do you need?? — 10 years ago
Big tannin on the front followed by beautifully balanced fruit. A long, luxurious, complex, oaky finish that will hang on until tomorrow. 93% PV 7%Cab. Sauv. — 10 years ago
Fuck. I can't stop drinking this. This wine bar across from my kitchen is draining my wallet on getting in bed with this girl. Pure relaxation, so silky, so balanced...the minerals, the cherries, the mysteries of every sip. Open for 10 minutes, open for 2 hours, doesn't matter, she's tight, she's loose, she's so gorgeous and quiet. Fuck. I gotta get out of here. — 10 years ago
Starting to get hang of these Rhone Valley wines. Loved this. Light and elegant. — 11 years ago
Vibrant, spicy, zippy blackberries hang with the tertiaries - black tobacco and rough silk tannins. Might add 12.5 abv... — 11 years ago

Tart, but smooth in body, though not round/plump. Even hang, leaving no strong acid, tannin, sugar... clean without being weak. Holds up to grilled, spiced steak, so probably anything short of game. Particular smells/flavors are somewhat elusive, largely because they blend, and compliment well. Improves in the glass, so give it a moment. — 8 years ago
