It’s been a while since tasting this, and from what I recall this has really shed some fat and figured itself out. Normally I don’t prefer GG Mosel/Saar wines, they’re terroir is so well suited to making QmP. This is pleasing, it’s nothing life changing, but to me this wine is all about the acid. Its bright, beaming, the focal point of the wine. There’s no excess, its lean, delicate, to the point, and almost hallow. I dig it, I like how it’s not the loudest voice at the party, just there to hang out and cleanse your palate with vivacious acidity. Limeade, underripe pineapple, wet slate, lime blossom, lemon zest, green apple, sea salt, a kiss of honey and diesel. — 6 years ago
Bit sweet, tons of fruit, bit of oak, very smooth. The story goes like this. My wife had bought out the entire stock of T-vine Zin from 2009 from the vineyard and was the only wine she drank. T vine representatives offered to scientifically analyze the Zin and see if they could make a blend reproduction. Voila Hallow Ground Blend. — 8 years ago
The nose was so pungently beautiful right upon bottle open. Tart and ripe red berry fruits, a bit of mineral "spice", composty earthiness, anise, dill herbaceousness.
The palate was at first unsatisfyingly hallow and empty, with nice acid edges but no body of deep fruit and a textual mouthfeel that was lacking-- again, within 5 minutes of opening.
Really began to open up and ripe fruit and a rounder mouthfeel filled the center of the wine as it continued to breath and stretch out. Delicious.
Really surprised this had 8 years on it already. Really fresh. — 5 years ago
Slightly over the hill but really interesting stuff, very tertiary, mushroom, leather, mid palate starting to hallow out, old school Rioja is amazing — 7 years ago
The lightest Sojourn I've ever tasted. Tasty but hallow mid palate. Last glass better than the first. — 9 years ago
I don’t know what it is about this wine, or rosé in general for that matter... I want to like it as it feels elegant and fresh on the fore pallet, I want to love it as a matter of fact, but it seems as if there are hallow particles in the liquid after the mid pallet. There is something hiding in it, it is somewhere in there but my pallet just doesn’t grasp it! Then, towards the middle of the glass, bottle possibly, it all comes together like the latter part of a Frank Schubert cello piece and reminds me that I need to try more rosé wine. — 7 years ago
2010 Vintage. Slate, violets, cherry, and anise on the nose. Flavors of cherry and licorice on the palate however somewhat hallow. The finish has notes of tart cherry, fig and toast. — 10 years ago
