So I met Etienne Julien who took over with his first vintage in 2012. Nice guy. And after tasting his wines: nice wines. This one: excellent. Loved it young. — 7 years ago

Still primary but getting there. Guy told me it was drinking well - he was right! — 9 years ago
This guy is from the Vally de la Marne where Pinot Meunier is the primary grape. This region is west of the Montage de Reims region at about the same latitude.
85% Meunier
15% Noir
Four years sur lees.
Spiced tangerine and anise. Sweet butter and hazelnut. A touch of sourdough.
Just opened this, and it's drinking well. :)

Lovely evening with very lovely dinner guests...this guy the second of two different bottles enjoyed this evening. Right out of the gate showed strong dark fruit especially plum to the nose...on the palate strong blueberry, plums slight pepper a bit a leather. Med plus finish and very delicious. — 7 years ago
Beautiful white burg — 8 years ago
Outstanding old vine Chablis that is "village" level but drinks like a premier cru. Decant for one hour. A SommSelect choice. $27. Wow. — 8 years ago
Pretty epic dinner last night. Started off with oysters and this guy. I am not a champagne expert by any means, but this one was pretty unique to me. Went perfectly with the oysters. — 9 years ago

Who would have guessed that this would be so good! A lot of funk when opened but once that blew off it was raspberries, healthy soil, a hint of mushrooms, fine black pepper, and red cherries all the way down.
A great level and impeccable cork attests to great storage, which will have helped keep this guy alive; but given the quality I'm also pretty certain it must be from declassified fruit (likely given the vintage). If I were to bet I'd say a combination of Gevrey an MSD. — 7 years ago
Very young, this guy had some grip. It opened up after a day, but definitely will be nice down the road — 9 years ago
This guy Gitton just keeps wowing me beyond me pre-existing notions about sauvy b — 10 years ago
Creamy tropical fruits, wonderful acidity, a little spice and loads of minerality on the finish. — 12 years ago

I heard ‘07 was very good in Rhône so this guy is quite drinkable. Still not my cup of tea. Every degree of alcohol wears my palette quickly and I prefer burgs for that reason. Soft tannins and very floral nose — 6 years ago
