Locations Wine

E-1 Red Blend

Another great "location" wine from Orin Swift. This one is a classic España red. A beautiful touch of Tempranillo/Rioja - very fruit forward; hints of dark berries and soft green apple finish. The wine finishes with a smooth red taste on the tongue - not too dry, just enough to keep you wanting more. For the price - this is an every day wine for sure! I could drink this alone!

Barrel Fermented Rioja Viura 2013

Super Blanco Rioja and a bargain at £10 from Waitrose. Lovely on lees American Oak flavours that complements the fine ripe apricot and grapefruit fruit flavours. High acidity and a medium intensity give this wine a super concentrated balance — 11 years ago

Lo Nuevo

Old Vines Vino de la Tierra de León Tempranillo 2009

Probably one of the best bottles I've had this year (2016) so far. Good balance, smoky, fruity, sticky. This is the type of wine you want to consume all by yourself. Not for your girlfriend.. Not for your parents... Not for your best friend... Just all alone. Overall a great vintage from España. Jáéhóóñ approves. — 10 years ago

El Hombre Bala Garnacha 2011

Unlike any #Garnacha or red #wine from Madrid that I've ever had. Different from start to finish. Bright, spicy & smoky. #neverassume #España #sustainablyfarmed — 10 years ago

MV Vino de Pago Red Blend 2011

Great blend from Toledo España. Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, merlot and temperanillo! Layered wine that starts subtly and finishes with a bang. Nice tannic play on the tongue. — 10 years ago

Extremely easy drinking. If only most $15 bottles were this light yet flavorful and inviting. Brought her all the way back from España. — 10 years ago

Imperial Gran Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2007

#wsetschool Deeply ruby coloured top level Rioja with large quantity of Graciano given it that deep intensity. Pronounced nose of black cherries, red currants and cranberries, with wet leaf notes. There are smoke and toast, cinnamon and cedar from its time in oak, and of course there are tertiary aromas from bottle ageing, like: tobacco, game, leather and dried fruits. This has medium (+) tannins and acidity and an excellent long finish. — 10 years ago

Tarima Hill Old Vines Monastrell 2010

After a long day, I decided to open up some vino tonight! Wine of choice: a 2010 Tarima Hill. The grapes in this wine are the Monastrell grapes, which I'm not too familiar with. The wine is from the Alicante region of Spain , in which I am not too familiar with either. Since I am always interested in something new, I was very curious to try this wine out. If there was any doubt about the quality and taste of this wine, tasting this wine made me a huge fan! This is a great example of where a lovely bottle, matches the lovely wine inside. This wine is excellent, viva la España ! Color-Garnet Bouquet- a wonderful bouquet of dark fruits, coffee, caramel, vanilla and leather. Palate-dark fruits, cigar, spice, and milk chocolate leave you palate with a nice silky coating on a long finish. — 12 years ago
