Broad and ripe. Citrus and intense stone flavors. Long and deep. A bit hard to unpick at the moment. Really fuel-injected. A long way to go- has a lot of fruit. — 9 years ago
Bottle opened yesterday. Piercing saline minerality, fuel nose, tropical fruit. Plenty of life left here! — 9 years ago
what a riesling statement!
super elegant, not baroque, crisp and focused - and if blind presented you know in the second it's an "achleiten": the wine stinks a bit of harbour breeze, saline air, broken mussels and seaweed, fuel gas. ...and stone fruit.
fantastic!

Interesting. Kinda hot. Jet fuel notes. Yummy on the palate. — 10 years ago
1997 vintage. From Jay. did not start well! massive amounts of kerosene and jet fuel on the nose...i looked at the somm and said "i feel like i'm at an airport!". once the kerosene blew off, which did not take more than about 10 to 15 minutes, things got very interesting. quite a special wine. viscously rich with razor-like acidity that burst with ripeness and finesse. the balance of the wine is sublime with intense concentration to complement the searing acidity. yellow citrus, honey and floral essence (white flowers) shine through and linger on the palette together with a slight nuttiness which delves into a finish which although is not epic is certainly worthy of applause! 97/100 — 11 years ago

I made a comment about "high-octane fuel" a little earlier, and based on the aromatics, prototypically, this is it.
Aromas of syrop du cassis, rich black fruits and anise prepare the palette for what is to come. The experience in the mouth does not disappoint. It's plump with a luscious mouthfeel. Not overly done. It's heavily extracted, but still presents harmoniously with bright acidity, tannins that fight back and 14.8% abv. Hints of coffee, jam compote and nutmeg finish with power, yet subtlety.
This is my first taste of their cab, and PM have again jammed a quart into a pint pot.
On a different topic, America, please join the rest of the progressive nations and use the metric system. There, I feel better already.

Obscure DOC in Italy but a bargain!! Complex nose, not sharp, fantastic balanced made with Montepulciano and Aglianico for Red grappes and a white grappe Trebbiano Toscano. Love italian wines — 10 years ago
Such a nice typical Godello from Rafael Palacio! Wonderful expression of this native grappe crafted by a good enologist! — 11 years ago
Further proof (no pun intended) that some wines can in fact handle >15% alc without being rocket fuel. — 11 years ago
