1997 vintage. From Jay. did not start well! massive amounts of kerosene and jet fuel on the nose...i looked at the somm and said "i feel like i'm at an airport!". once the kerosene blew off, which did not take more than about 10 to 15 minutes, things got very interesting. quite a special wine. viscously rich with razor-like acidity that burst with ripeness and finesse. the balance of the wine is sublime with intense concentration to complement the searing acidity. yellow citrus, honey and floral essence (white flowers) shine through and linger on the palette together with a slight nuttiness which delves into a finish which although is not epic is certainly worthy of applause! 97/100
