Grand Lux Cafe

Domaine François Raveneau

Blanchot Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2005

2005 vintage. Blanchots. At Cafe Boulud, The Surrey Hotel, Upper East Side, New York. Pale golden hue. On opening a little closed. Peach and stoney, honey suckle and slightly floral. Still very youthful. On the palate, medium plus acidity and medium minus body. Light textured wine. Medium concentration and medium plus finish - slightly tart on the back end. Will come back to in 30 mins. After 30 mins, there's a honey sweeter note and the tartness on the finish has gone. The wine has also developed some more body. Still a tad short on the finish. Drink now until 2026+ — 11 years ago

Jongwënzer Vinsmoselle

Grand 1er Cru Auxerrois 2013

Wow! Medium bodied wonderful domaine Moselle - smooth, slightly dry with a nice finish. I have never been disappointed in domaine Moselle from Lux, and this just takes to another level. — 12 years ago

Château de Villeneuve

Le Grand Clos Saumur-Champigny Cabernet Franc 1997

Lunch with friends in Nikoklia Paphos, Cyprus. Bought from Cafe de la Promenade, last Easter week, recommended by Ludo. Fantastic Cab franc fruit & pepper, with great balance, finesse, length and sexy acidity. — 12 years ago

A black hole. Sucked all the light from the room. Super extracted and heavy for my taste but really good with duck sausage at Cafe Boulud. — 12 years ago

Smooth, easy drinking. Lovely afternoon wine. Reminds me of cafe wine in Paris. — 14 years ago
