Violets, tar, blackberries, and gripping tannins. Good balance, though finish is a bit short. — 9 years ago
Purple Violet glass with a translucent scarlet Violet rim. Medium nose of blackberry, tobacco, vanilla, blueberry, loam, and smoke. On the palate, the sharp young tannins charge in with a nice acidic tartness of the berries, cherry, and a hint of pomegranate. Tannins drive a nice long finish where tartness meets a little chocolate. This wine is fair value now at $19.98 but should be fantastic 3 years from now. Still great now with steak or rich food. — 10 years ago
Refined, complex but easy to drink. Very attractive nose, oak, red and black fruit, vanilla, very well made — 11 years ago

Bodega Mendel is a boutique winery with an incredible story. Combination of 1928 Argentinian Malbec vines and other Bordeaux varietals provide a combination of sophisticated structure with enough complexity to keep the palate engaged. My favourite wine from Mendel. — 7 years ago
