A surprising wine - more the color of Pinot Noir than a classic cab Franc but so aromatic and elegant. Medium ruby, gorgeous nose of violet, leather, black olive, forest floor and blackberry.
Medium plus acidity, very long finish — 7 years ago

Only a few sips left. Pairs well with air and probably fatty foods but I only bought one bottle so just enjoying. so glad I don’t have to share. — 6 years ago
Aromatic, charred red bell pepper. Extracted, dark, serious. — 7 years ago
2016- Bright green apple, pear, nectarine, lemon curd, a touch of sweet cream. Taste is bright, high acid, moderate phenolic bitterness. Medium body, dry through the middle lead to a silky finish. Normally I HATE chards but this is the kind I like. Virtually no barrel/mallow. Fruit focused and clean. Love it. — 8 years ago
Always been my favorite from bear republic. So tasty. — 9 years ago
Very nice wine, Everyone liked this one. Maybe 1 notch too spicy for my cab tongue, I preferred the long shadow kidder — 5 years ago
Great wine for the money. Fruit forward. Soft for a cabernet. Not much oak. Very fruit forward for a cabernet. — 5 years ago
This Chilean Pinot Noir offers a nose that is heavy with cola, black tea and coffee grounds. The savory aromas actually outweigh the fruit. It is a medium-weight wine, not very deeply tinted, and it rides light on the palate. The acidity is brisk and the tannins firm. This is not a Burgundian take on the grape, for certain. It is more playful than elegant, more rustic than beautiful.

This will only get better with age and it’s already terrific. The biggest takeaway for me was the lingering taste of hot chocolate mix; subtle but undeniable. The bouquet is stuffed with cedar shavings, the dark fruit is strong but not obnoxious and the tannins coat the tongue, rather than attack it. — 8 years ago
Not usually a white fan, but love this. Very drinkable, not too sweet, very nice chilled. Not gonna lie, drank a whole bottle in a sitting. — 9 years ago
Carter White
Great structure, nice body, chewy, with verve. Earthy and savory, baked clay, underbrush, smoke and menthol. Just a tad austere. More generous fruit would have elevated this.
It hit another level on day 2, with the flavors crystallizing and more dried fruit, coffee, and milk chocolate coming on. Complex, food friendly and delish! — 4 years ago
