Oak, leather, cigar. Tanning has already been gentle in 10 years, without decanting. Good acidity. Black berry, black currant. @5200, Aeon -, 190812-230123 — 7 years ago
In 1805, Daniel Phelan, an Irish wine broker, acquired le Clos de Garamey, and was followed in 1810 by the acquisition of the Segur de Cabanac estate, creating the domain that remains today. Aromas and flavors of black cherry and blueberry with cacao, gentle oak and herb character. Firm grip on tannins, lingering this big wine to an earthy ending. Tight now give it some time, decanting helps if you must now! — 8 years ago

A business lunch with Jonathan and Gillian at one of the great Italian restaurants of Los Angeles. Recent commentary implying that the 97 was a bit wobbly and on the downslope required I pull the cork on one of my small stash of Le Pergole Torte. Happy to say the reports of a deteriorating state seem exaggerated. Mature, yes - decrepit, no! A beautifully developed berry richness with a hint of tea rose in the nose. Supporting tannins are gentle, but firm. Not PC to buy this wine any longer, a pity, as I imagine later vintages will develop into something as inviting as this one in time. With Gino's fantastic array of pastas; lamb ragu, limonate, seafood. Loved the wine loved the food. — 10 years ago
Crisp and refreshing... Fantastic! — 11 years ago
Pale yellow with pleasing aromas of citrus and sweet peaches. One of the few barrel fermented Sauvignon Blanc's which adds a wonderful toasty oak flavor setting this wine apart from the rest. Complex palate of flavors, fresh fruit, lemons, grapefruit, peaches, Asian pears and baked apple with tea and spicy acidity. Slight herb notes with a smooth and creamy well balanced finish ending with a gentle sweet character. A Fav! — 6 years ago
Juicy plum, blueberry pie, black cherry, blackberry, cassis, and violet. Notes of carbonic maceration or at least some whole cluster. Neutral oak. Elevated acidity, medium soft tannins, and moderate body. Medium(+) finish. Simple but delicious. — 7 years ago

Delicious Pinot. Not your normal Cali Pinot - like I’ve had in France. Kenny does such a great job with his Pinots. I just love them. — 8 years ago
